FFS, WHY do they make removal of such items so bloody difficult???? Mike

Belt may have gone "shiny" whilst slipping in which case a new one should cure the squeal, it happens on full lock as thats when the pump is under most load. Mike

Cruise Control Can Not Be Fitted...
GSMGuy replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Matt, dead easy to fit it to yours... I did mine as soon as I got it... If you do a search, there is quite a long thread on it.. Basically, you need a stalk, the loom (modified to lengthen it) and access to a dealer diagnostic, or VAG-COM to turn it on... Mike -
As said, something is letting water onto the drivedelt that powers the steering pump... Looks like we have identified the cause, now just need to chec, A if you have an undertray/towing eye cover missing.. Mike

Just sounds like a bit of a self check routine to me... As long as there are no other probs..... Mike

Firstly, check the fluid level... Then, aux drivebelt slupping when the PS pump is under load? Any squealing, or niticeably worse when raining? Mike

Yep, fuel pipe pulls off - it's a tight fit getting it back on though, and I'd give it all a soak with WD40 the night before! Mike

GSMGuy replied to Steven.Langdale's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Right... Galaxy auto box is made by Jatco (Japananese Auto Transmission CO) So you'd think it was reliable???? Nope... Just had a full recon box and torque converter in my 2002 Tdi 115, costing -
Cambelt Renewal - Alhambra 115 1.9tdi Pd
GSMGuy replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Where do they get their prices - Just had a look at repair times on Autodata. Changing the cambelt and tensioner on a 2003 PD is quoted at 2.4 hours, (not 2hrs 40min) On an earlier model it's 2.90 hrs for some reason. Now I'm presuming dealers charge -

Cruise Control And Radio Stalk
GSMGuy replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Most prob the sqealers have forgotten to plug the remote into the rear of the stereo, It's only a small plug and can quite easily fall back into the aperture. Not too sure on the cruise though. Mike -
98 Galaxy Gia 115bhp Starting Problems
GSMGuy replied to studiodemon's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi and welcome to the forum. 1st things 1st, if yours is a 98 car it definately IS NOT a 115 Tdi, it will be a 90 or a 110, now we know that if it's a 110, then there's only 5 bhp missing - but the point is they may as well be 2 completely different engines! Tdi 90 & 110 are "traditional" direct injection motors, with diesel injector pump, pipework and injectors all visible when you take the plastic cover off the top of the engine. 115 (and 130) are PD or pumpe deuse engines, with unit injectors, each pressurised by an exhaust lobe on the cam, and the fuel being released into the chamber electrically... So, if the dealer has relied on you telling them it is a 115 - (they really are this thick!) they may have fitted the incorrect parts, as the crank pulleys are different - the 115 & 130 have a timing belt which is 5mm wider to compensate for the extra load.. Or then again thay may simply not have tigtened the retaing bolt....... Mike -
Lo Jim 115 certainly shouldn't be breathless pulling up a hill, mine used to romp up them, before I chipped her... Fitted a Speedbuster to mine - not cheap @ around

Ivor The aux heater is at addr 18, not 8, assuming it's a typo.. Doublecheck that the multiplug for the aux heater is all the way home, it's a tricky little bugger!! PS did you get that package? Mike -
Hi Andy, and welcome.... if you check out THIS THREAD you'll see a couple of complete module (address) lists from a couple of different Gals... HTH Mike

My 115 has been dyno'd and produced 143... But I think 150 is gonna be hard to reach! Mike

Write to the fitters and explain that whilst your vehicle was in their care, they have a legal responsibility for it, and by using the incorrect tool.. ie not as per the manual, they have caused the dameage! Mike
