Alloy Wheels Hitting Front Caliper
jkspoff replied to installer69's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Are you using the correct alloy wheel bolts ? -
If you put '0' points then there is nothing else to answer.

I was just wondering what penalty points people had accumulated over their driving career and what for, I will kick it off with my current speeding offence from a few years back. Its obviously anonymous unless you post a reply on here. Its just interesting to see just how many people on average have speeding offences and the like. :D

jkspoff replied to Deanoecosse's topic in Customising your Ford Galaxy
Try this stuff on your tyres, I bought some from ASDA last night and it looks great on all the black plastic and tyres, -

Parrott Mki 9200 Car Kit
jkspoff replied to jkspoff's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Since the latest firmware update 1.11, the iPod connection works well, it no longer freezes up and the scrolling through tracks is a lot easier, I would now recommend it. The connection with the phone is 100% and the voice commands is about 90% accurate, it is an expensive kit, but well worth the money, once its fitted properly that is ! -

Good point, maybe I'm a boy racer at heart, my last car was an ST220 Mondeo. Maybe its time I settled down to a more mundane pace ! -
Think I Was Just Caught Speeding.....
jkspoff replied to jkspoff's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
It would seem that there is very little future for this method of capture, so we'll have to just wait and see what else they have up their sleeves, I'm pretty sure that my children when they get older will be laughing at the fact that there used to be boxes with cameras in at the side of the road, and people hanging out of the back of vans with radar guns ! -
Think I Was Just Caught Speeding.....
jkspoff replied to jkspoff's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
Its only a guess as to the speed I was doing at the time, it was about halfway between 50 and 60, so we'll see, I'm not saying its ok to break the speed limit anywhere, but just that this method shows no mercy. -
When this happened to my last Galaxy I thought it was the immobiliser at fault, it turned out it was the battery not outputting quite enough juice, the immobiliser light flashed like mad as per yours, have you checked that yet, I know it seems obvious, but it might simply be a low powered battery.

Its 4 years this week since my last set of penalty points and I was looking forward to applying for a clean copy of my license when guess what, I've just driven up a road I use nearly every week, and there was a mobile speed trap there, a Ford Galaxy with its boot up and the usual officer with a camera pointing my way, its a 50mph dual carriageway and I pulled out to overtake a slow Vectra when I noticed the speed trap, I immediatey slowed from 56mph to 50mph so hopefully he will have not got a good enough average reading, but I'm doubtful as it did appear to be on me as I overtook before I realised. Anyway it'll teach me, just annoying when you see these idiots driving around housing estates at 50mph+ in their boy racer cars, and here I am,an advanced driver in the dry on a dual carriageway tootling along in my people carrier, paying my way in a fully legal car. Oh well, only the post will tell this week, will let you know !

Looking good, nice choice ! Agree with you for not getting it lowered if you tow a caravan etc, but the back end looks lower than usual anyway on yours, have you got a boot full of junk, or is it just that the rear springs are more compressed with lots of towing ?

Thanks all, had a great day, now rapidly approaching 40 !

Thanks, another year older and wiser (maybe not) ! Another year with more debt more like, but still, no matter. :)

I looked high and low before giving up a few months ago, eventually just got one with a 3 year warranty fitted at a fast fit centre.

An interesting post and good to hear from someone who actually buys cars new, allowing the depreciation to absorb before we buy them second hand, hats off to these people. The mass depreciation is common on most higher ends cars, especially at the moment, car dealers are reporting a drop of 25% from sales this time last year, leaving them with very little option but to offer peanuts for our pride an joy, I believe that there will be far more older cars on the road in the future as there used to be in the early 90's and 80's, as people hang on to theirs for longer to avoid the depreciation, I for one normally change every 3 years, but won't be able to consider it for at least 5 years now. Anyway enjoy your Maserati julesbyghia, I wish I could afford one, maybe one day.

Just for a laugh I phoned my main Ford dealer for a quote for all round pads and discs fitting to my 2004 130bhp tdi Galaxy, I knew it would be expensive but never imagined this,
