  1. I recommend getting a proper Ford part replacement filter, as they are thicker and better made, for the sake of a few extra quid.
  2. You need to change the pollen filter to completely solve the misting up issues, here is a great link with pictures for 'how to': http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...l=pollen+filter
  3. Most likely going to be the pollen filter, it may well be damp/wet, plus the area around the filter if its not correctly clipped into place may be allowing water ingress.
  4. Check out this link: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trk...-All-Categories
  5. Only thing I can think of is make sure the car is completely level, as they lock on tilt, or try tilting the car back and forth on hill gradients, it once worked on a Mondeo I used to have.
  6. She looked like a beautiful dog, we have a Golden Retriever who is only 2 and growing up with the kids, she's a big part of the family. Sorry to hear of your sad loss.
  7. Here are your rights from trading standards: What are my rights if things go wrong? When buying a second hand car, you need to recognize that it will not be perfect.  You have a responsibility to carry out reasonable checks on a car before you buy it.  You have a legal right to expect a second hand car to be fit for its purpose and of a reasonable quality bearing in mind its age and condition.  You cannot make a claim for faults that are caused by general wear and tear or are expected in a car of a certain age and mileage.  Check website forums and the Internet for information about cars of the same make and age as your car. This can help you identify whether the problem is as a result of a manufacturing defect or just old age.  You can make a claim for problems that are unexpected, or if your car is a relatively new one, caused as a result of a manufacturing defect.  Depending on the severity of the fault, you can look to reject the car and request your money back or seek a repair at no cost to yourself.  If you have bought a car from a trader and it develops a problem soon after purchase, your first step is to contact the trader and ask them to rectify the fault.  If they will not take the car back or offer a repair, put your complaints in writing and send the letter by recorded delivery, giving the trader 14 days to reply.  If the car has a major fault, or you are concerned about the mileage being incorrect, stop using the car.  Continued use of a car that you are looking to reject, will lead to you accepting the car and affect your legal right to ask for your money back.  If the trader refuses to discuss the matter with you, obtain an independent report on the car. These are available from the AA or RAC.  A report from another garage is generally not considered to be independent.  Send a copy of the report to the trader and give them a further 10 days to rectify the matter or advise them that you will consider taking legal action to rectify the problem if there is no response.  Consider approaching a trade association such as the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) to mediate on your complaint before taking any court action.
  8. Ignore the above post, I have now sussed it out ! They are extensions to other sockets, the ring wire (not normally needed and recommended to be disconnected for ADSL users) is in connector '3', however it can be left in if the socket has an ADSL faceplate filter fitted which mine now has. All becoming as clear as mud to me !
  9. The wiring behind my NTE-5/new ADSL faceplate master socket still remains a mystery to me, I have re-wired it the same way as it was when I removed it, so that the extensions running off it still work correctly, does anyone have a clue what is going on with the wiring in this picture, as its baffled me, and I've searched all over the internet but can't find out why some of the terminals have 2 wires attached and why the colour coding is different ?? Although everything works perfectly, it would be nice to know why !
  10. The best thing about Hull is 'The Deep', UKs biggest aquarium, our kids love it, here is the link: http://www.thedeep.co.uk/
  11. Wow, easy to install the faceplate, took 5 minutes, my connection is now 100% stable and speeds have significantly increased, well worth the
  12. Welcome, I'm sure you will become the guru of the forum by the sounds of it !
  13. Thanks for the advice, I've invested in one of these ADSL/phone faceplates shown above, so will install that and keep my ADSL line completely seperate from my voice line, hopefully it will then keep the high speed reliable connection better then.
  14. I tried to make out that the exhaust was for their benefit too, but try pursuading a 7 and 4 year old of that ! Maybe I should have kept it and wrapped it up
  15. Just for anyones information, I got the exhaust fitted today for
  16. Are you sure it didn't happen on 'trick or treat' night !
  17. I've found a back box and centre pipe with silencer on ebay that I think fits, but its says up to 2003, whereas mine is 2004, anyone any ideas, here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-Galaxy-1-9-TDi-...A1%7C240%3A1318
  18. Thanks for the advice, I've tried the step by step method of each plugged in device, I think the problem must be with the wiring, aha, I have plugged the filter faceplate back into the filter whilst keeping the ADSL plugged into the test socket, good thinking, they all now work !
  19. I was messing about with my broadband connection as I keep getting disconnected, I unscrewed the BT master socket and plugged the router into the 'test socket' behind the front plate, my ADSL broadband speed doubled ! No more disconnections and no more slow speeds, the only problem is, this obviously makes all the other connections in the house unuseable. I will leave it plugged in there now, but does anyone know how much BT will charge to sort out the other sockets ?
  20. My rear silencer box has become detached from the centre section exhaust and looks like its not repairable (rotted), does anyone have any good prices for rear box and centre section fitted from anywhere. Also does anyone know which is the best manufacturer to go for ? I have tried Kwik Fit and they quoted
  21. Cam belt and tensioners due on 2003> Galaxy Tdi at 4 years or 60,000 miles. Always do the full kit, or its not worth doing. Negotiate with dealer, as I got main dealer to do mine for
  22. Any VAT registered garage maintains the full manufacturers warranty. The basic service as mentioned is reasonable for a main dealer, however the cost of the parts and labour costs the dealer
  23. Ford will possibly pay out for this, maybe even in full, you need to contact Ford UK customer services, I've had them pay out a few years ago after a fault when the warranty had just run out. Telephone: 0845 841 1111 Or by post at: Ford Customer Relationship Centre PO Box 4430 Coventry CV3 9BH
