Having a 2001 model latest shape Galaxy I didn't think the Haynes 1995 to 2000 manual would be a very good buy. However I took the plunge and bought it with the hope that most things were still the same. Having done a few jobs on the galaxy it appears that almost all of the major components are identical. At only

There is a strange knocking type noise coming from under the drivers side dashboard, behind the instrument panel. If I push down on the top of the dash under the windscreen it stops. It appears that something might have come loose or something.....anyone experienced anything like this.....? It is not constant and when the dash heats up in the sun it stops........I have tried to get under to have a look, but I can't find any way of getting beneath the main part of the dash.....i.e. under the windscreen behind the instruments.........any ideas ????? <_<

Superb After Market Sat Nav
jkspoff replied to jkspoff's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
This system runs off a rechargeable battery that lasts upto 6 hours. It can be charged from the cigarette lighter if required. It plugs into your PC via USB to upgrade the maps, also it can be used as a portable device undercutting anything else on the market e.g. Carmin devices by over -
Just purchased a 'TomTom Go' Sat Nav system, its an all in one unit that fits via a windscreen arm. Switch it on wait 30 seconds for satelites to attach and then your off. Talks you through to your chosen destination which is inputed by a touch screen keyboard using either towns / street names / postcodes or even house numbers !! It gives you a very ultra clear 3D map. Follow this link for a full demo. This item retails at

The steering wheel, although it looks nice with the silver bits, creaks when manoevering, has anyone discovered a way of getting into it, i.e. the circular section and somehow oiling it or something ?? Its the 2001 models onwards that have this type of wheel.

'Sorry I meant 115tdi..!' Does anyone know when the cam belt is supposed to be changed on the 115 tdi 2001 model Galaxy?? Tried the 'search' but can't find any details on this model. If so where is cheapest to do it ?? Thanks...

I have a 2001 model Galaxy Ghia, does anyone, or has anyone installed a Sat Nav option. If so, was it in the radio space or was it an after market option. I believe there is a Sat Nav unit that fits into the Galaxy radio hole, is this just a matter of pulling radio out and putting Sat Nav system in ???? If you have the Sat Nav system installed is it any good, and does it talk you through the journey. Thanks.
