  1. there are detailed instructions in the faqs on how to change the tensioner. have you also thought about changing the alternator pulley??? again info in the faqs.
  2. the only thing i bought from the dealer was the tensioner,iirc about 50 quid,the pulley and belt was from gsf.sure i put the info within the link.

  4. make sure you set the roller inside to its lowest setting,because when you take them apart you will not remember how it was set,i hope that makes sense? when i done mine i had to take it apart again,im sure you will see what i mean when you do the job.

  8. yep defo sounds like you 2 have your heads screwed on,at least youve got a wedge back to help with the repairs should you decide to go down that route. lets hope the relevant people nail him and he gets more then a slap on the wrist.
  9. fingers crossed you bought this from a dealer,iirc under the sale of goods act you have 28 days to reject/ensure repairs. also even if bought privately i think you have some kind of come back.
  10. sounds more like the fuel pump to me.

  16. if its an orriginal remote key that came with the car,it should be stamped on the side of the horse shoe, something like, siemans 433.92 mhz/5wk4 790/97/98 or im sure it may be on the central locking module somewhere?
  17. plenty of info on this site about the problems faced with only having 1 key. cheapest place ive found for another remote key is ebay,MAKE sure it has the correct frequency as the key you have already.key blanks can also be bought on the bay. and i managed to get my key cut at timpsons iirc 7-8 quid,ford wanted at least

Thanks tim looks like you were right , Ring a ford dealer and he told me they do not sell the pulley on its own have to buy a new alternator I do not think they are right any ideas ?????? yes. buy the tensioner from vw,and the pulley and belt from gsf.you also need the spline tool.read the thread i posted and all will be revealed.
