got mine from ebay,mind you did have to search and had a bit of lady luck in getting them cheap.

ebay,try emailing some sellers who are breaking the cars.

globetrotter, there are various posts on this subject around the forum,iirc even in the faqs? if it is the inards of the motor then it is the plastic spool that has stripped and made the cable overrun. you can rebuild (ooo steve austin moment :lol:) it,aslong as the motor itself is working,then EITHER buy a repair kit from ebay.yes they have started to sell them for our cars now,or obtain another motor/regulator and take it apart and carry out the repairs. it is fiddiliy,but do able.

i fitted the 2 front windows with these,found them a great asset.iirc drop the windows and pull them off,well thats how mine are fitted.

yours is a mk 1. do a search on the forum for vag=com,loads of info,which should point you in the right direction. iirc it is under the ash tray,investigate furthur,im sure there is a flap/frame that comes out to expose the connection.

welcome to the forum, for the remote fob try ebay,but you must 1st find out exactly what frequency you require. im thinking the wires in the door gaitors are fryed/broken,look in the faqs in the tech section for more details.

i reckon its the old problem of broken/frayed wires in the rubber door gaitors,plenty of info about this on the forum also look in the faqs in the tech section,in there are detailed instructions on repairing the wires.

is this from a dealer or private sale? if dealer get them to do the repair/fix,as the plug depending on which model is fitted is itro

you probably have allready checked?but you do have the pats chip in the key? have you tried another spare key?

halfords sometimes do a 'bogoff' deal aswell.

yeah i did question this cyborg and they said dont worry, so i replyed why put it down as an advisory then if i dont have to worry. i think they were being a bit crittical,i know its there job, but maybe like the supposed play in the front suspension i:e nothing to worry about.
