omar thanks for that but as i understand its a totally different type of program/software and lead??????? you need for these cars mk3 gal/smax hence i understood mine lead wouldnt work,but if you know of a program i can get and reckon my lead will work??? then happy days.

do a search for alternator pulley.then see if the symptoms are the same as yours.

look in the faqs,im sure there is a detailed post on repairing the wires.

well if you remember m8ty i went down the same route as you and bought a mk1 tdi zaffy and thought it was bomb proof,tbh i only got rid of it because it was to small for my needs at the time.then bought a mk2 gal and had a few probs with it,and ended up having 2 different mk2 zaffy's as hire cars for about a month.and preferred the mk1,mind you mine was a 2ltr tdi unlike the 1.6 petrol hire jobbies i had and thought they were utterly gutless.a m8 has got a mk2 and reckons its the best car hes had. and this was my 5k post, :(

as i aint got a scooby on WTF your on about,it must be about YOUR ZAFFY,you have just bought.

if your anywhere near me,you could try my lead and if it works buy it :( . as it wont work on my smax.

yeah sounds like youve got wiring problems,check all gaiters in ALL doors including the rear hatch.

mk1 was better imo.

think im sure on your model/year its under the passenger seat.

oh gawd a mk2 zaffiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. bloke wtf fella. :o :( how cheap was cheap m8,i got my smax cheap but it was a bit galactic on the mileage. at the end of the day needs are must m8,enjoy it and hope it behaves itself.

pardon, no 1 turn the caps off, no 2 welcome to the forum no3 shouldve been wearing the belt. me thinks if there was a recall then your too late,cant see a dealer sorting this out for f.o.c. tpft oh dear :o :( think this is goner cost you.??

as seat kid has said put vag on it,flashing light could be brake switch needs replacing. but it certainly isnt running correctly. is the alternator charging the battery ok?

8 years 9 mths,think you should have a refund. ;) have you kept the old 1,just a thought if you alt isnt working as it should??????????

my old 95 model glx didnt have remote.but thats not saying it wasnt there??

lol. in my smax the stereo is a mp3 player so i have put a few albums onto 1 cd.it should say on the unit whether its an mp3 player or multi disk player. on other versions of my car/mk3 gal they have fitted a front loading 6 disk jobby.

hi m8,read my sig. been there done it and wear the t shirt at weekends, :wacko: :wacko: zaffy mk1 imo is better then the mk2.AND god knows why they have a 1.6l in this car.oh and no temperature gauge, :o personally any car will not live up to the galaxy,see below on my flirting with the LEXUS :wacko: and that was 1 of my all time favorite cars, lasted 5 mths. done my best to get back into another mk2 gal,but in my area the 1s i found were far to bloody expensive for the age. then tried the smax,the missus has 1.but hadnt really thought about getting 1 for myself. anyways went and looked,drove and thought car like tendencies goes like stink(143 bhp)and titainium model.oh and tdi. so bought it,and 10 mths later still think its a great car. BUT i do agree with the fold down seats and size of the new cars compared to the old mk1 and mk2. takes me ages to hoover mine out because of all the little crevasses etc. and will struggle to get doors in,where as my old gal managed 6 with passengers. oh and no where near as good fuel economy as the old gal tdi.yes i know its a 2 ltr and 143bhp compared to the gal at 1.9 and 115bhp, but all in all a lot better car. never driven the mk3 gal,chrispy has 1 no doubt he will give you a good comparison as he also has a mk2 aswell.

iirc its all on the forum this has been asked a few times and the info posted up.

still think its the belt retainer,on mine it vibrates.

you could also try asking in seat and vw. or visit your local scrappy or ask on ebay to see if anyone breaking the cars has one.
