welcome to the forum, if you really cant get the door open from the outside then it looks like you will have to remove the door card from the inside. iirc there are instructions somewhere on here,once its off you should be able to release the mechanism.

depends on which model,take a looksie on ebay or check out parkers to give you an idea on costs etc. perhaps a few more details on the spec. but sounds a great price on limited info.

not as much as you got out of your 2ltr,lol. i used to get around 38-45 mpg around town,and almost hit 60 mpg on a run,VERY SLOWLY I MUST ADD. iirc seat kid gets some good mpg out of his 1.

then i would be investigating the wires in the rubber gaitor for breakages. you may have to take the door card off as weel to check the wire to the red light iirc that has a block on it and may have come apart?

no not really tdi's have a booster heater fitted as these engines are very efficient they do not produce enough waste heat to heat the cabin.

what does the light do when you lock the car?

try disconnecting the maf see if it runs better or not.

do your brake lights work? and the constant running noise MAY be your run on pump.

drove to Brighton yesterday and averaged 38.9mpg below 60mph with 106k on the clock, drove the missus car to wales last year and the best i got out of that was around 34 mpg. drove my old gal tdi up to Coventry and got 59.9mpg mind you was driving that like a snail.

there not as good as the mk2 and thank includes the smax.

yeah i have that crap in my car,trying to locate a decent spare i can keep in the car,as mine are 18"alloys.there are lots of peeps who have bought a spare BUT the 1 thing they havnt done is to make sure its the correct loading for the mk3/smax as these cars all weigh nearly 2 tonnes. asp if you know of a suitable spare near by plz give me a shout.

if its still fitted on the scrappy 1 then test it, other wise look on ebay.

the tdi's are more reliable in my opinion. i had nearly 60 mpg out of my mk2 if you want a tdi they also done a 150bhp version. if you want to race around like a youngster then get the 2.8 petrol version,

i do believe that is correct,as on the smax they dont have that extra bit at the back. i know that general consensus for smax owners is to buy a galaxy mk3 cover as this fits better then the 1s for the smax :rolleyes:

do you have or know anyone with a steam cleaner or have a wallpaper stripper with the attachments?
