Mine is a pd engine isn't it ? It does say VW somewhere on it i have seen it. If the dealers have sold me that oil and it's wrong i won't be happy. Although it is fords so i should expect them to know b****r all about the cars they sell ! (you can just tell i ain't happy !) :D

I go to my local ford dealers and buy their ford oil for my 2001 gal and they charge me

Hi Lesley, I too have had that happen to me when i have took my gal for a service. I have looked at the oil when i have got home and wondered if it had really been changed because it had been black. I did however see that closer inspection of the oil on the dipstick there was a yellow tinge to it and the viscosity (dont know if i spelt that right) of it was thicker. I looked to see if the oil filter had been changed and i saw that it was, so i put it down to them not lifting the car slightly when emptying the oil out as i'm sure i read on here that for best results you should. In the past too i have picked up my gal and found that the service miles hadn't been done. The service is due every 10,000 miles and when it comes close to being done it counts it down. However to me that does seem to be serviced early ? Although as you are buying it from a garage maybe they thought it was best to have it done as they would be asked about that buy a buyer when they seen the service counter on. If you find that it has been done then get them to reset it. :unsure:

Well gregers i hope you manage to give up someday. When the time is right im sure you will give it a go. I have never had a fag since the day i gave up. There was six of us gave up and i was the only one to stay off. It's easy to buy more fags but like gregers says when you pick up an ashtray and notice the smell :wacko: I remember the fist fag of the day and how that use to make me feel dizzy. I do miss a fag to a degree (no where near enough to make me start again) and remember having one after a meal. I haven't become an total anti-smoker where i think everyone should give up. I also don't mind people smoking around me or even in my house i just know how hard it would be for them to give up and i am just gratefull for the fact i have managed it. I'm glad you threw them away and only smoked one but like gregers has said it is like going back to square 1. I was told also that going to the gym would be good because it's a good way of taking your mind off things and also controls any weight that could be put on. I went for a bit and found that it helped a little and helped me to take the edge off things. Good Luck Maz Keep Going !

Yes from me too. When i have a service i supply 5lts myself as i only buy my oil from the dealers. I have been told 4.5lts it requires.

The first few days tend to be the worse. Remember you are doing this for yourself and your kids. You will feel frustrated, short tempered but very soon you will feel so much better. Food will taste better, you will begin to realise that your clothes don't smell of smoke (no affence intended to smokers reading this) and above all else your kids will be proud of you for giving it a real go ! Even tho i had the patches my head got in a mess a bit. You just have to keep saying that things get better and tomorrow is a new day. I'm sure anyone that you may have affended will understand. The both questions put a search in for aux heater or booster heater. Pull number 12 fuse to stop the smoke. If you want to fix it yourself ( You will find that here too.) Try getting a glowplug from here or here. Thats if your willing to see if it fixes it. Fords
