Mk2 Galaxy No Speed Signal
Mirez replied to malo225's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Vagcom should work with the parking sensor controller, its only the engine that it won't connect to and you'll need fords WDS system or a generic OBD2 scanner. You won't get vagcom working with a generic OBD2 cable though as it requires a K line interface cable instead. Diagnosis isn't as strait forward as on most car's due to the way the ford engine is interfaced to VW controllers around the car, The speed signal is passed from the gearbox sensor to the ECU and instrument cluster, from there the cluster creates the VAG speed signal and sends it around the rest of the car so there are in effect, two speed signals present. The fact you've changed the signal generator on the box and the speedo works would suggest that the cluster is receiving the correct Ford speed signal from the gearbox and interpreting it correctly. However since the engine and sensors are controlled by a Ford ECU then the issue can't be with the VAG signal and we go back to looking at the Ford side of things again. I take it that you can't clear the P0500 fault? Is it that you can't connect to clear it or that you clear it and it comes back? Its certainly not unheard of but a lack of a speed signal generally wouldn't stall the car... -
Fitting Sharan Power Fold Mirrors

No worries! Do you have the mirror wiring diagrams? If not chuck me a PM with your email address in and I'll send them over to you...<BR> -
Fitting Sharan Power Fold Mirrors
Mirez replied to 2328david's topic in Customising your Ford Galaxy
Fuse 2, 10Amp (Second in from the left). The only wiring I ran was the additional wires for folding and side repeaters (Which you won't need to worry about as its only the Sharan ones that have them built in). If you have both side of the connector's pin's then it should be nice and easy - I've added an additonal loom and connector to each door but then I ran a multitude of additional wiring in at the same time and there wern't enough free pins on the original connector lol. The original mirror connectors should fit the alhambra mirrors, the sharan ones have a different connector then the normal one to add the additional pins needed for the repeater wiring but the alhambra ones should plug strait in and give you all movement and heat without any additional wiring. Good luck! Where abouts in the south west are you? -
Fitting Sharan Power Fold Mirrors
Mirez replied to 2328david's topic in Customising your Ford Galaxy
Right if its going into a UK Mk2 Galaxy then you 100% won't have a controlling relay for the mirrors as its direct drive from the CJB Fuse to the switch/controller in the drivers door - no other ECU's or relays. Its still not tricky to do though just a little more wiring! I took a total of 4 wires into the passenger door for fold+, fold-, Gnd and Indicate (if you arn't wiring the indicators in then you only need the two wires). I used the older relay which purely folds in and out on the switch control but then I modified it and added my own wiring to automatically fold out when the ignition is switched on+ 5 seconds and fold in on ignition off+5 seconds. -

Don't think you'll find a 4motion with a diesel engine and 6 speed box. AFAIK it was only coupled to the 115 engine and 5 speed box.

Fitting Sharan Power Fold Mirrors
Mirez replied to 2328david's topic in Customising your Ford Galaxy
Some more info would be handy. You don't say what you are retrofitting this to? Sharan? Alhambra or Galaxy? What year? Spec? Engine? The wiring's changed a lot over the years!!! Generally though, Ford's don't have the mirror control relay as they never got the folding mirror option so basic mirror control ts handled via the CEC module. -
Low gas pressure will be sensed at start up and will inhibit the A/C from working and If its not working then you won't get any of the things you describe. There is this common belief that vehicle A/C systems just loose all their gas naturally - it SHOULD be less then 5% annually so a year in a garage is nothing - if its low then you have a leak which will almost certainly be around the drier cap.

Turbo Problems Auy Engine Code
Mirez replied to sharan's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Its a recirculating waste so no, there is no wastgate as such but it still discharges the pressure so it is possible to hear slightly. As for the whistling noise its possibly a boost leak somewhere in the pipework - check the intercooler hasn't been damaged by a stone and that all the pipework is secure. -
Guys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP paying ebay pirates for the software! Its illegal to copy, distribute and purchase copyrighted material however more importantly its available FREE from loads of sites, just google it

Aftermarket JVC or is this one of those things that will only work with a VW radio? Correct, you need a VW/Seat radio or the MFD Nav unit. -

MAP sensor lives on the intercooler pipework, open the bonnet and look at the big pipe to the right side of the engine. Its the sensor on that. Short to B+ means its a 12V short (ie direct) so either the sensors goosed or the wiring is. -
The 91 rating isn't high enough for the Galaxy - in other words the tyre isn't up to the job of carrying the weight. Its not only a risk to yourself and others but as above its illegal, perhaps more importantly though its a

Can you clarify that? Is the bulb indicator on or off? -
I'm someone concerned about these comments to turn ESP off, its only monitoring the vehicle in normal operation. Turning it off will have a 0% impact on MPG.

Parking Sensor Ecu Question
Mirez replied to FLENG's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Shouldn't make any difference - the ECU is simply looking for 12V on pin 6 which it gets from the reverse light feed so as long as the reverse lights are working you should be fine. I'll check the coding though - with VagCom open the controller and relay what the softcoding is on the ECU... I would suggest you've possibly plugged the front and rear connectors the wrong way around and that the units coded for rear's only... -
thanks for your info on that what about using a pulse width modulator to reduce the power yet increase the gas made in the cell and is it true that HHO will remove all the carbon deposits from the engine restoring lost power and increasing MPG to when the car was new im after info on the subject from people who have tried it themselves as your can see some poeple are just so full of themselves many thanks mirez I'm not sure exactly what you want to use a PWM for but you can't change a physic's law - its a law of life, there are no ways around it just like gravity and the "first law of thermodynamics" (should you want to look it up) is what bounds this process - To simplify - Because you need power to create power it can never give more. If for the sake of argument you used a battery not connected in any way to the vehicle system to drive the HHO system then yes it would result in an increase but because HHO's require energy to work from the same system they put energy back into it can physically never be more. Fiddling with the electrical system, changing the amount's of gas or anything else will all be bound by the same law so unless you power the HHO from something unconnected to the vehicle and its forces its a futile exercise. In thoery a HHO system would reduce further buildup of carbon inside the engine, as the burn is technically cleaner. In reality you would have to drive the vehicle over a massive distance to see any form of reduction so to "restore lost power and increase MPG" would be highly unlikely.

Well I'm not here to bash you or your thoughts but HHO systems can't work in cars and its really very basic physics. For anyone not clued up on HHO's I'll briefly explain: A HHO system (hybrid hydrogen oxygen) works by using electricity to split water into its constituent components - that's two atoms of hydrogen and one of oxygen. The principle is sound and the gas generated is real, indeed you can run a vehicle off it. So it all sounds great however there is a problem, basic physics teaches us that the energy generated through recombining the atoms (ie through combustion) can only ever be less or equal to the amount of energy it took to separate them - it physically can't be more. Since you have a more volatile gas entering the intake, the fuel mixture will generally burn a little better and subsequently give's the illusion of smoother running - in reality though the increased electrical load required to run the system puts an extra load on the alternator which in turn takes more from the engines output. So to sum up, the MPG figure physically can't increase - the computers readout may make it look better but that's purely down to how sensors are being fooled. However on the plus side the effects of the system *should* aid the combustion process, resulting in a cleaner burn but with no increase in MPG and much increased loading on the electrical system.

Ford Galaxy Tempurature Sensor

The 100PS variant is a TDCI engine and therefore makes your car a Mk3 not a Mk1/2. You'll have better luck posting in that section instead :) -

No, If you press the unlock button and then dont open a door within a minute the doors relock assuming you arn't getting in... tell the wife to give her something more suitable to play with instead, hasn't she heard of cuddly toys? :) -
Sortof, you can install a 12V switch into one of the pins of the control module - when the pins got 12V on it then the middle two rear sensors are disabled for towing.
