  1. Ahhh ok, do you know of any other symptoms? I'm guessing this was a warrenty only issue and not a recall? Its had a new battery just last year and the terminals are all cleaned up, reviewing the CCTV (after a 4am incident!) the interior lights didn't come on so I'm only have suspecting its related to this other issue and that it might be the old ultrasonics causing grief instead...
  2. I'm tracking an unusual issue with the standard ford alarm where it keeps going off for no reason. I'm currently investigating the door switches as somethings not quite right - If: Drivers door open - Message "Drivers Door Open" appears Passenger door open - Message "Passenger Door Open" appears Left Rear door open - Message "Left Rear Door Open" appears Right Rear door open - Message "Passenger Door Open" appears Now very occationally opening the rear right door displays the correct "Right Rear Door Open" message but most of the time it says passenger door instead. I've swapped around the switches and bought a new one for that door (they are only
  3. Westbury in Wiltshire - ironic actually as I was looking online for a replacement run-on pump - rang a company in devon who said the nearest place was a little place called westbury wiltshire lol Its written in the log book as medium state blue - I havn't confirmed this yet but one of the mondeo's colour is certainly medium state blue - if its just "state blue" then I need to get a different touch up kit lol! Thanks for the welcome's!
  4. Thought I would introduce myself, I'm Mark and I am an alc... no wait wring forum, I own a Galaxy. Some of you might already know me, I'm an administrator of fordmondeo.org and I own mirez.co.uk, for those that dont hello! I've moved away from the mondeo and after a sucessfull 8 month "test" with a Mk1 2.3 Ghiax we have just bought a MK2 1.9 Ghia Elegance (I'm assuming you cant buy a GhiaX in Mk2 form?) - I come from an electrical and mechanical background so most things get undertaken by me - I've just repaired the front wiper linkage on this one and will be sorting the leaking condensor and stalled run-on pump over the weekend, with 122K on the clock and with the above faults we haggled down to
  5. Found this company by accident really whilst trying to source a replacement secondary water pump (aka run-on pump) for less then the
  6. In a nutshell - No. It failed to connect with any on board module - it certainly tries, takes about 45 secs but just keeps coming back as "could not connect". After experimenting with the cluster I've now replaced the clock spring and airbag unit from a known good car of same year with same airbag controller and the light is now off :) For reference, the light is a soldered LED to a board on the back of the cluster - said cluster is clever enough (depending on how you look at it!) to know if the LED is "missing" and then starts an infuriating bleep noise so removing it isn't an option! On the plus side its easy to fill the aperature the LED points through as a temporary work around whilst you source the parts :)
  7. Hello all, after much searching I've yet to find a conclusive answer to this question. I've recently had the airbag warning light come on my 1999 T plate 2.3 and being an engineer by trade I naturally took everything apart - I located a defective clock sping and replaced it but the airbag light is still lit. After a lot or reading I have reached the conclusion that once the SRS system see's a fault then it logs the code and won't reset unless the code is wiped by a dealer - is that correct? I've tried the old battery off ploy without sucess and I'm reluctant to spend X amount of money for a dealer to connect up and reset as a 5 minute job. I'm also planning on keeping this one for a while so I'm thinking software would be good - I have an OBD2 scanner for a mondeo which partially connects to the galaxy but has no faults logged. Therefore I'm suspecting that I need the VW software to reset the airbag code but as I said before I can't find a conclusive answer to the question of will VAG.com work with the Ford 2.3 - to be clear I dont want / need it to connect to the engine - purely the airbag system... any thoughts? I'm planning on this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=014 Just need to ensure it works with the 2.3 first! Any help most appreciated!
