As usual HJ takes a little knowledge and ..... Three faults affect all Galaxies irregardless of age...in order of likelyhood... 1. The water supply pipe to the rear washer comes apart in the passenger footwell. 2. Scuttle drains in the corners of the engine bulkehead get blocked with rubbish and water can then rise to the point it gets in through the "ventilation system" 3. The windscreen seals (and sometime engine bulkhead seams/seals) can leak allowing water. The "fix" that VR6galaxy refers to was a short term attempt that caused more problem than it fixed.....

I drove a Comma van for a while (2 stroke diesel...) -
5 bleeps is saying crankshaft sensor open circuit. Radio coming on as described I think indicates a master reset being sent on the CANBUS. They may indicate an ECU problem. I would disconnect the battery for ten minutes......

Electronic speed control module is kerplunk. It is part of the wiper motor...

Oil is black by the time you drive it out the garage.....don't worry it's normal.

AFAIK all galaxy autos are bought in Jatco's. Just because it's japanese doesn't mean its reliable... IMO Major item sourced from third parties always tend to be less reliable as there is little incentive to fix problems...manufactureres just argue about whos fault it is....

I think you need a new switch....

maybe it was low on oil, leaking from a gasket? In that case maybe longer term damage has already been done (worn bands) leading to a short life.

That would be too eco friendly....

unless they can twist the mounts or the trailing arms, theres nothing they can do...

You could just turn the engine upside down and give it a good shake.. :( or you could use a handy tool like this http://img-europe.electrocomponents.com/images/C423671-01.jpg search for 423-6714 in RS components

Ford says.... I had this problem on Alhambra no. 1 - it's been badly welded up! More likely toe in setting than camber that is wrong. Only options are change tyres around, or maybe try wider tyres...you may be overinflating them..

MAF fault would tend to lower temps on a Diesel as power is restricted.... Seems reasonably normal... I don't know about the coolant temp (I don't have a digital readout) but 110 C Oil on Motorway is not high. mine normally varies a lot depending on the power I'm pushing. Just over 100 piddling along to about 120 when pushing hard in a head wind uphill etc. In hot summer on Autobahn seen it as high as 131! Manual says 145 is when you start to worry..... If your still concerned about your increase then I believe EGR is used to lower combustion temperatures at high power/cruising ..... maybe yours is stuck closed /bunged up/disconnected/reprogrammed -
Thanks, I'll bear that in mind, would be better if it was direct.... Further to location of this CKS connector...(on mk1 at least) if you look under the rhs (gbx end) of the engine cover there are a bunch of connectors, it one of the square ones above and to the front of the large circular one with lots of wires. Could be this area is full of muck. There is also possibly a connector at the sensor itself which from what I can see is at the front of the engine just below and to the right of the oil filter (Mk1)... Candidate for muck.... Remember...These are pics for a MK1 TDi I think its the black connector below.... http://img204.exs.cx/img204/908/cksconnector1rh.jpg I think this is the CKS wire going to the sensor..... http://img226.exs.cx/img226/2623/ckswire3gj.jpg Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting

According to a SEARCH (hint hint) item I just read - 5 beeps denotes an open circuit CKS. So it may just be (fingers crossed) a bad connection as you dont always get the 5 beeps. You gotto find the CKS (Gbx end of engine, at front low down) and follw the wire back to the connector. pull connector apart, inspect, clean and reinsert. If that doesnt work then its a new CKS. If I could post pictures....
