  1. :D Anyway, I quite like my rear lights :D
  2. B) yup it's still there,BUT,I aint let it near a main dealer since the new gearbox :( point taken about your other issues, but i still greatly prefer the newer models looks and feel I seem to recall that yours is a pre-facelift? soz about that, but you'd probably revise your opinion if you'd had a facelift model for a while B)
  3. B) The facelift models are a better ride :( The dashboard has cubby holes where the "dinner-plate" was They're more stylish I'd rather have a very high mileage "currentish" model than a very low mileage old model and several other reasons I just cant think of right now....(just got up)
  4. Thats normal for a diesel engine, which is also partly the reason that so many driving schools use them. You need to try quite hard to stall a diesel engine, as opposed to trying quite hard NOT to stall a petrol engine (in the role of novice driver) Another aspect is that as the throttle is"drive by wire" (electronically controlled), a drop in idle rpm would be detected and immediatly compensated for, while a cable controlled(push-pull) throttle type engine may become lumpy enough for you to feel a stall coming on and belatedly react to it. You will have noticed a brief increase in engine rpm untill the engine can resume idle speed. I'd imagine the oil pump is efficient enough to maintain adequate pressure, particularly if the oil is at working temperature.
  5. Sid? :P
  6. remove yer dipstick first
  7. lazy buggers
  8. :o I used a laggy band for about 6 months
  9. I had a seriously annoying one(cos it was the only rattle) that turned out to be the fusebox cover, stuffed a driving glove inside the cover which sorta "tensioned" and stopped it
  10. There is an ignition live to the light switch.I use it for my nokia hands free and road angel. The side panel of the dash can easily be removed after the rubber door seal has been pulled away. (it's a big red un iirc...) [the wire that is]
  11. In my experience, If the gal runs better with the maf unplugged,it indicates a fault.
  12. :( Downhill pilot then! Or coming out of a split S ? :(
  13. :P Aw simmer down mstraxs :D :D I just have a thing about peeps who dont fully describe the item they want help with............such as lights that could be off any car,or any model of the three variants in the shalaxy range. :D Since you did'nt even bother to enter any of your own vehicle details, and still seem to find it a chore, have you considered taking a few asprins? If you'd posted your vehicle details,or a picture, anyone wanting a set of RHD headlights for their specific(pre/post facelift galaxy might have contacted you :D
  14. :D A dyslexic "fasten seatbelt warning" ? :D I've not come across this one mate
  15. "Why do you have no warranty when car is under 3 years old?? " :D like mine, I guess it's an import? :D And mine had "clutch slip in 4th and 5th too........ :D wty job though :D
  16. :P Do LADA's have bottom covers? "black hole"....I likes thaat "Is it my imagination or are we now slightly off my original subject?" B) Well you might like to mention if The lights ARE for a lada...jensen...land rover ....renault traffic....austin A40..................................drones on
  17. qoute "1998 Tdi RHD" ;) Do LADA make a TDI? :D
  18. Are they for a LADA? If so What model and year?
  19. puleese stop shouting :o I've got an idle control.....AKA automatic
  20. heh: translation...well ok I was a little OTT   But i have to be on very good behavior to exceed an average 30mpg,(I rarely go out of town) and pay very dearly in terms of fuel consumption for the pleasure of the automatic gearbox
  21. :o I would steer cleer of automatics, and will never have another. In addition to total failure/replacement. It seems impossible to acheive 30mpg. Although I'm sure SOMEBODY here will point out that they can do better  The replacement also seems to have different gear ratio's, and returning to town driving from motorway travel sees it remain in too low a gear for too long, after stopping briefly at traffic lights The I must say-immense driving pleasure is certainly paid for......BIG TIME! (I've had two manuals prior to my current gal)
  22. Halogen BRAKE lights? ;)
  23. Thanks guy's, n/s bulbs are always the same (from a pack of ten) I usually park with traffic flow,so use the off-side park lamp more than t'other
  24. :P I have replaced the front near-side(uk) parking lamp 3 times in 4 months ;) Each time it's because it got significantly dimmer than the other side, and on inspection the bulb has become blackened  Has anybody else had this problem? I feel tempted to check the voltage on each side ;)
  25. ouch
