Retrofit Multifunction Steering Wheel
Dave-G replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
My import (also from motorhouse) has the MF wheel I would imagine(BUT DON'T KNOW) that there is possibly an issue with the airbag? -
:P Why not change the Mrs? B) The galaxy is shorter than most people think at first, and I would definatly agree that it "seems bigger" due to: [A] an extra row of seats ...well these are simply 'in the boot area with a roof on' The "bonnet" is mostly inside the car - with the bottom of the windscreen moved forwards ! [C] It's so high....all the better to view the area into which you intend to reverse into :( If you cant find a way to tactfully suggest she gets a tad of help to readjust to this high type of vehicle perhaps you could persuade her to view these pages with you for a few independant opinions on this tricky subject? Perhaps a few girly drivers on here could make a comment, particularly if they previously drove a small car such as a golf that you are now considering? BUT IF YOU DO CHANGE,BE SURE THAT SHE IS AWARE OF THE MASSIVE,LIFESTYLE CHANGING SACRIFICE YOU ARE PREPARRED TO MAKE SO THAT YOU BOTH HAVE A CAR THAT YOU EACH WOULD BE COMFORTABLE WITH.... :( (NOT) ER..it's not a mid-life crisis type thing is it? ;)

 This occurred on my new [to me] Gal, I redistributed the lump of grease that was "around" the plunger so that it again came into contact with said plunger and have had no problem since

:D Like a lamb to the slaughter

:D :D And if you talk to ford technical dept, they would probably confirm that you should never ,ever, under any circumstances use honda parts for your galaxy :D

 So what ford main dealership do you work at carpinter?
-
 Why dont you just leave it off ? :o Although it looks like a usefull item, its actually in the way of both the handbrake and gearlever :o I know several shalaxy owners, none of them use the armrest after the novelty wears off.....usually within 10 minutes or so :o

Xenons Flash Briefly When Starting Engine
Dave-G replied to Xenonman's topic in Technical Section (Focus)
:P My [standard] headlights occasionally flash as the key is turned to start the motor,I thought it might be something to do with the bulb check system at first, but then felt as it is only a rare occurence.it may not be something as routine as that.:P :D So I dismissed it as a mysterious UFO type thing :D :D :D -
:P I have tried really really really hard to get my pedal to the metal, but it just wont go down more than about 20% :P

Radio Interference
Dave-G replied to davethecabbie's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
This sounds like a dry joint problem.turn your radio up loud enough to hear it from outside the car and wriggle the wires /plugs etc around, not forgetting to do the same inside the car. is your 2 way connected to a live in the light switch? if so remove the dash side panel and wriggle them also.ditto in fuse box area. I would also shift around ANY loom if i still havent found it by then silly question, but your antenna IS outside the car? I know a cabbie who hides his underneath his car ,so nobody sees it but the signal dont get very far.....cant imagine why! -
:D Thats fine Ivor No worries mate :D

 Ivor;I remember you declaring an interest at the time I bought them, if you wish to put your name on them I will consider them sold
-
 when I bought my ghia I was dissapointed to find the spare rim was a steel one :o  It seems the first of the facelift models had alloy spares, but 02 model onwards get steels? Anyway I bought a set of four wheels/tyres from a member of this forum and have now 'swapped around/mixed and matched, using up the tread to a depth of about 2mm,and fitted 1 as a spare. I now have 3 surplus rims to dispose of if anyone is interested 2 have tyres on with 2mm tread (both of these have kerb scrapes) @

:D Fredt...I got it for free :D B) Ben...you have been VERY lucky B) I just hope you or another unfortunate unaware driver does'nt find out the problems at the wrong time (during cornering through a piddle). If you're not demanding much from the steering while the BELT IS WET you would not have found the problem,PRAPS YOUR LOCAL PUDDLES ARE ON STRAIGHT ROADS ? Sorry about the shouting...but it's not just YOUR life thats endangered.....
-
 P'raps disabled for LPG's :)

:P Yea I've tried that, Maybe it's some sort of parking requirement in outer mongolia? B)

What Bulb Types Does Newer Model Use?
Dave-G replied to MrT's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The newer model dipped beam [for example] does'nt also need to be able to offer a reasonable main beam performance each beam is optimised for a single purpose rather than a compromise 'tween em both ? I would imagine the lense also helps -
I'll be around HAYLE/PENZANCE in the next few days.....my ansome's :D
