Trip Meter Service ?
Dave-G replied to toneinblack's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
 New form of spyware <_< -
Be advised that some of these pads have the "loop" in a "plenty of pad material left yet" area. I reckon this is so the "service technicians"(during a service) get to see if the pads will last till your NEXT 10,000 mile service without getting their hands dirty <_<

http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...t=0entry13509 this would be a good place to start, but there is a better thread SOMEWHERE THAT SEARCH WONT GO (FOR ME) where the linkage ball has been drilled out and screwed in

Kinel! I've had an annoying rattle on/near the engine for a few days and couldnt locate it this evening it got a bit more noticeable then I saw smoke wafting up from the off side wheel area (when I pulled up to investigate) and smelt a "clutch type" burning opened bonnet and a lil smoke was coming from the AC compressor and there seemed to be some melted rubber sticking out from it The burning smell and rattle then stopped (engine still running) Late last year I took the car for a gas top up "to see it through"and recall he said he'd overfilled it and took some out again straightaway. lately when I've tried the AC it aint worked...in fact in the heatwave we had about 2 weeks ago it blew warmer than the outside temperature! should we be able to turn the clutch inside the pulley by hand? it seems quite loose if i tap the plates (yip the rattle sounded like that) but i cant rotate it If the clutch is knacked and as expensive as I think, I'd rather part ex the car and hope the new owner buys it with a warranty  what ya think? :(

If it's an auto you could probably expect to change them at 30/40k I am on my second set @ 40+k. I suspect the discs are now a mere mild steel (whereas they may have been hardened in the distant past ) They're a doddle to change, you dont need to take this type off with the wheel bearings some people use the claim "1 lady owner" to help the sale of a car

B) does anyone know how to fit a louder Beeper in a road angel? B) I'm getting imune to mine now :(

Hmm, the plot is getting thicker... There was a minor facelift of the MK2's in late 01/early02?...there seems to be one every year with ford But if its a 2001 tdi then figure the belt interval as 40K
-
Wel hel, If you'd like to give us specific details of the engine and age of the car we can give a specific answer In this case specific means build date if its an early facelift - for total accuracy as there was a change in belt intervals early into the facelift models If however it's a MK1 then the interval is 60.000 miles...as are the first of the new models...this soon changed to 40.000!

Is There A Way To Insert Or Upload Pictures ?
Dave-G replied to Nick's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
right ...you got the pix on ya pc? bear wi me here...it took lots of UPPER CASE advice from another member on here before I eventually enlisted the help of a friend of mine to actually show me...and The most literate of people I aint but here goes a try become a member of the picasso forum and go to for example the post by some bloke...who is me btw... After or during filling in your text you will see a place at the bottom of the page for file attachments...use the browse button to find and select that file, and submit the post. now go back to that post, find your picture in it, right click>properties>highlight and copy the address (URL) of the picture>press ok then come back to this forum. It basicaly tells this forum where that picture can be found. start your reply and select the place on that post where you want that pic to appear. go to the top of the post and click the IMG button a window opens where you paste the url that you copied from picasso...note you need to clear the existing highlighted text in that window before you paste your own in it click ok ...and its done ... :) he says hoping he did'nt leave anything out :) -
