Dept.of Transport Iniative Re-launched June 2006
NikpV replied to Ronnie W.'s topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
yes MM I know - I wasn't criticising you, I was trying to point out to Mumo4 that the thread had already deviated, I hadn't twigged at the time that she was referring to her comment about being rear ended :) rather than rueing the fact that the thread had wandered off from its original track :) :( -
they are listed in several places as 'mechanics splines' so they can't be that rare - while not a mechanic though I've never come across them before :(

um they don't seem too rare - google 'xzn spline' gets quite a few hits and not particularly expensive and although M10 is listed as you say difficult to find them individually - possibly because they are cheap??

I seem to remember that early galaxies had a recall/remap of the ecu to cure this problem - if you go to a dealer with the car details they may be able to tell you whether you need it and if its been carried out. -
while I can't help with the explanation I will say we have a mixture of the 2 front/back on ours, atm the dunlops are considerably cheaper than the pilots although last time I bought they were similar price so we had pilots, when we bought our galaxy in 2002 it was difficult to find this size of tyre reinforced in any other make I think they were factory fitted with the pilot though.

there's always one of us :( Most of the electronics used are in control systems - it is possible to make many of them mechanical but given the level of sophistication the mechanical equivalents would be complicated and probably as difficult to troubleshoot and more to the point prohibitivly expensive. :D Of course regressing to less subtle control would enable much more transparent, simpler systems at what cost, mpg emmisions, safety I would think.

Fuel Starvation After Parking Facing Downhill
NikpV replied to imposter's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
well if you want to have the fuel level sensor off to test 1. Disconnect the battery ground cable(s). 2. Remove the rear scuff plate trim panel. 3. Remove the loadspace trim panels. For additional information, refer to -
