  1. I would assume in meas in 2000 miles although I think ours read 2000mi yours is a bit of an odd display Nilpv
  2. God sorry about the spelling in my previous - must be getting tired. I can confirm the 'Broadcast' 'readings inadequate' or working incorrectly and that no repair was to be attempted and to await further info from Ford as to the likely solution this was what I was told - They were pretty peeved since they had to put back the old cluster and they said that Ford wouldn't pay them for the time since they had been told not to do it!! Nikpv
  3. Well I posted this : Slow fuel gauge reading ..... Hi Anybody have this problem - its only happen a couple of times, just had a new instrument module due to 'Check pad' warning coming on (under warranty) now they want to change it again Any thoughts on the 12 october My gal went in today to have a new instrument cluster - got a phone call at lunchtime saying they put the new one in and it went crazy - registered 160 kph when pulling away!! They then checked the broadcasts they get with TIS and sure enough they have been intructed NOT to replace any nore instrument clusters due to an unresolved problem. Its funny my Gal had this problem with the fuel gauge & incorrect door indentification on the previous cluster but I've not seen any other posts about it - on mine it takes up to 30 mins to read correctly when the tank is judt less than half full but only on chilly mornings! I am also now waiting for a call from the garage. Nikpv

  5. SWMBO okayed Ford to change these during the 30k service, Why I asked her, she said bloke said they would last another another 5-7k. So why did you have them changed - cos we are going on holiday she said umm... They also quibbled about the warranty (needed a bush on front suspension + door switch) because previous service not done by Ford before we owned it (manual says has to be done to Ford spec and PREFERABLY by a Ford dealer) work was eventually done under warranty after phoning Fords (pads cost us). Got into the Gal on the following morning (6.50 saturday to take my daughter swimming !!!) up pops -Check brake pad light - luckily on our way back - so straight to the garage they put another set in although they could find nothing wrong. Picked car up 300 yards and up they pop again. Took car back monday - another set of pads - must be a bad batch sir. Happened every day that week they were sure sick of the sight of our Gal (garage is just down the road 2 minutes walk). They changed the pads 3 times in total the wiring and finally the Instrument module!! Picked car up - no fuel computer got back in time to catch the head? mechanic leaving for lunch which he then spent in the Gal re-programming. I hasten to add that Ford picked up the bill for all this - no quibbling about the warrantee now!!. We've had the 'check brake....' a couple of times since (4k down the road) and they do a lovely job of cleaning the wheel & blacking the tyres every time they check it out !! If they were a bit short of business when they suggested the pads needed changing I think they regret it now even if Ford paid for it!! Sorry for the long post Nik
  6. Ours came with one remote key and one normal key, the manual says 2 keys are needed to program a third (2001 Ghia Diesel auto) so ordered a normal from Ford - Very Hi-tech process : I didn't have the key number so I waited half an hour and watched the two sales guys cover the key in tippex, scape it out of the slot and photocopy it many times!!!! Eventually they were satisfied, waited 4 days took car back and the guy programmed the new key and gave me a chitty with the key number on it -
