  1. yes MM I know - I wasn't criticising you, I was trying to point out to Mumo4 that the thread had already deviated, I hadn't twigged at the time that she was referring to her comment about being rear ended :) rather than rueing the fact that the thread had wandered off from its original track :) :(
  2. they are listed in several places as 'mechanics splines' so they can't be that rare - while not a mechanic though I've never come across them before :(
  3. did what - it was a joke thread which deviated straight away - look at MM's comments on patriotism :) :( oh the shunted from behind comment :D :D :D
  4. steam cleaner would soften it enough :D dont have one. :( think ill just get the hammer and chisel out. electric kettle and extension lead then :) :)

  8. um they don't seem too rare - google 'xzn spline' gets quite a few hits and not particularly expensive and although M10 is listed as you say difficult to find them individually - possibly because they are cheap??

  10. trouble is just like the m4 half the people are going the wrong way :( ;) :( Hmmm...wonder if you can get a sat nav chip implanted into the brain...now that would be useful!!! ;) , then if i did get lost i could blame something else!! ;) you are a woman blaming someone else is built in :o :D

  12. certainly mk2 galaxy 16" 215/55 needs re-inforced tyres
  13. yes it is a good thread - so good in fact its already in the FAQ :( did you not originally post it on the picasso forum http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/i...indpost&p=57190 when the add file script on the gal site was looping IIRC
  14. the spitting is not obligatory but they seem to think it is :(
  15. have a look here surging Is yours a manual or automatic
  16. always been wary about trying some of these brands since they are the only thing that keep you going in the right direction but more and more peeps are trying them so might give a pair a go next time
  17. b*gg*r, brother in law and chinese wife just bought a takeaway in northampton - bang go my drop links :(
  18. ummm my last set has lasted 45,000 miles and still going strong - changed at 22k
  19. I seem to remember that early galaxies had a recall/remap of the ecu to cure this problem - if you go to a dealer with the car details they may be able to tell you whether you need it and if its been carried out.
  20. while I can't help with the explanation I will say we have a mixture of the 2 front/back on ours, atm the dunlops are considerably cheaper than the pilots although last time I bought they were similar price so we had pilots, when we bought our galaxy in 2002 it was difficult to find this size of tyre reinforced in any other make I think they were factory fitted with the pilot though.
  21. there's always one of us :( Most of the electronics used are in control systems - it is possible to make many of them mechanical but given the level of sophistication the mechanical equivalents would be complicated and probably as difficult to troubleshoot and more to the point prohibitivly expensive. :D Of course regressing to less subtle control would enable much more transparent, simpler systems at what cost, mpg emmisions, safety I would think.
  22. well if you want to have the fuel level sensor off to test 1. Disconnect the battery ground cable(s). 2. Remove the rear scuff plate trim panel. 3. Remove the loadspace trim panels. For additional information, refer to
  23. umm TIS says that solvents may affect the sniffer (halo-alkane leak detector) may affect the detector
  24. didn't we discuss this :( oh no it was something else, what does the trip comp say regarding fuel consumption ? if its not much different then fuel level sender or instrument cluster.
