  1. take them out and throw them in bin. a you'll never get a beam pattern unless you fit projector lens b mot failure c blinds everyone on road. stupid things should be banned
  2. immobiliser doesnt control starter motor. check all connections on battery, the thick one goes to starter trace that one out. on starter theres a thin wire thats the solenoid check that its intact. have you got a multimeter and know how to use check when key turned that 12v is on the thin wire
  3. take off the aux belt see if it changes things, its a belt for timing
  4. stuck on on mk1 took em off as i tried different colours on them, car looks bland without them just sort of slab sided
  5. when i fitted .216 injectors my engine had a rough/romping tickover just the way your describing. give the injector cleaner a try as it could be down to injectors clogging, bad thing is your also describing dmf vibration is it still there with clutch in.
  6. round button by itself is the rear fan master switch which is behind panel at the left side on row 3 seats. the speed control and temp is just above rear passenger door near front. make sure that temp is in blue for a/c

  9. not sure but do a search theres a thing called ford tis online tells you how to do it, dissconnect the battery 30mins before touching airbag
  10. short out the stat on wiper arm to test. methinks theres 100's threads about this. try the search button. if everything worked before then now it doesnt go back to the dealer
  11. yes mk1 99 car 170k on clock, just look after engine 4k oil change with good oil to vw 505.00 spec no cheapy, i only use shell or esso derv now starting on 100% with acetone as a cetane improver, any start up i let car tick over 1 min for oil to get to pressure and before shut down min of min or more to spool down turbo and stop hot spots. son thinks its a drag car the way hebrays it but he breaks it he fixes it.

  13. load of crap think about it how hot is exhaust gas then putting that gas into your inlet when you need air to be as cold as poss within reason, before i came on here i read a lot off the usa tdi sites and thats where i learnt loads, vw golfs 200bhp etc first thing they do is off with the egr as hot gas and carbon do nowt for your intake. if you blanked egr off then jobs a good un. have a look at my mods below and my son brays the backside off car hell knows how much power nis there but wheels spinning still in 4th when damp, bmw 520d left for dead till 100mph and poor sod in his gti gtd thingy just give up.
  14. get a voltmeter/tester on it if its dead check see if wire broke in rubber tube, bit young car to have that problem tho
  15. right then noticed that the top of suspension strut the metal plate that has the nut sticks up a good inch higher thn the lft plate to the point its hitting the plastic trim bit where that big cover goes on that cover the wipers etc behind water bottle. 2 mates one says spring snapped at top tho cant detect that other reckons the lower nut is slack. my thoughts keep spraying grease onto rubber and creaking goes. new bush and rubber fitted. so anyone had this. or best to just change the lot as it its only whilst at very slow speed. when i think on lad screwed my old shock and fitted a second hand one with my spring and new top. its just an irritation at moment
  16. hi. have you a clock dump off a early mk1 tdi dash that has miles remaining as the later mk1 hasnt got it. years ago i would sort it my self but chemos screwed my brain a bit and cant for the life think how where it would be without a comparison dump to switch it on or to the point any one got a real early dash with full display surplus please. hint hint :angry:
  17. i concur. but put a new bit of wire in dont join old wire together its too brittle and will go again. if you cant solder use a inline joint theres enogh flesx to pull out of car/hatch so it only flexes on wire, check other ones while in there.
  18. just make sure its off, you can wind the adjuster back its in middle of car, should be set at 6 clicks when fully on whilw working on rear caliper put a bit of wd etc on the handbrake spindle thats the bit the cable attaches to

  20. nope do nowt, bit of plate blank it off and job done ran mine for 4yrs without one makes a big difference, dont worry about pipe as you can leave it in place. i made plates and totally removed out to do with the egr valve then blanked the pipe next to valve.

  22. copy cat mines off a 2.7t a6. makes a hellava difference to car with them wide tyres i run 39psi all round seems to be best pressure. trying my first batch of b100 in car today wish me luck.
  23. not egr valve just blank it off with a bit tin, get your car on vag com and get a measure test done to check out maf/turbo and fuel rates whilst car being driven. sorry cant give much more help
  24. hmm, well ill not be doing this mod then far too much slaver on just for a different colour. thanks for info saved me a lot of time
  25. what does it look like with the blue thru the green, yes the green is on the back of clock, why you take the needles off for outa interest please
