Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E, F and G are the letters used to define bra sizes? If you have wondered why, but couldn't figure out what the letters stood for... It is about time you became informed! {A} - Almost Boobs... {B} - Barely there. {C} - Can't Complain! {D} - Damn! {DD} - Double damn! {E} - Enormous! {G} - GEEEEzus Christ! {F} - Fake.

Windscreen Misting Up
Smilge replied to Seatdriver's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I reckon the air con not working is your problem as moisture from the interior of the car isn't being removed by the moisture separator. A lot of peeps think that the air con is just for blowing cold air but during winter it is used even more for the purpose previously mentioned. You mention that the car never really warms up ..... is your booster heater working as that could be the cause of lack of heat due to the engine being very efficient and not producing enough waste heat to warm the interior up? -
Hi from me too Jason ........... I've seen some very smart ones knocking around ........ (usually 2.0L petrols with the big ends gone ...lol) Just remember to share any mods with other members (including piccies). Look forward to your posts matey.

http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...0310&hl=VNT Have a look at the above post gents paying particular attention to the VNT mechanism. This is controlled by the Boost Control Solenoid (N75 valve). Check the rubber pipes from the solenoid to the VNT diaphragm and also to a fuel type filter at the end of another one of these pipes. The filter is located on the drivers side bulkhead behind the MAF area. Turbo's should not whine and if they do it's more than likely indicating a potential bearing failure. The turbo should kick in at 1300 RPM.

1.9tdi Limited To 3000rpm And Difficult To Start
Smilge replied to si.miller's topic in Trainee member help
If the "boost valve" is a bypass valve, dump valve, wastegate, etc. then it suggests that you have a 90bhp engine. The 110bhp engine was fitted with a variable nozzle turbocharger so there wouldn't be a bypass valve. The safest way to identify it though, is to find the engine number stamped on the block (AHU=90, AFN=110). This sounds to me as though the Boost Control Solenoid (N75) is causing your VNT mechanism not to work. When he mentions attenuator I assume he is talking about the VNT actuator which physically moves the vanes in the turbo which adjusts the amount of pressure. It is common for the VNT mechanism to stick and also the vacuum pipe to the VNT diaphagm to perish. Again like Insider suggested, you need to find out what engine is fitted to yours. Basically if it is the type fitted with the Variable vane turbo you're looking at -

Yep ..if you look at the FAQ's you'll see a link which will show you how to. Give em a good yank and you'll see the problem I reckon.

Gents ...sounds to me as though people are having problems with either glow plugs, metering pumps or they need to be removed and de-coked. There is a good post on removing the booster heater and changing the glow plug somewhere on here. Good luck.

Hi Duncan and welcome to the forum. You'll notice that there are a number of areas that this forum covers and some of the members on here are either "Professors" or "Politicians" so when it comes to any questions, you'll get an answer. Your rattles ....... mmm........I had an annoying rattle on mine which turned out to be the Anti rollbar drop links (ARBDL). Now sorted after a good search in the FAQ's.

Aux Connection/6000 Cd Radio
Smilge replied to ianskill's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Sounds to me as though they're getting confused with the 6000CD fitted to the Mondeo which does have the socket in the upper spec models. I have a Ghia and there isn't an aux socket in the glovebox I can assure you. The best person to speak to with regard to the wiring is steve67. Try sending him a pm. You can always try an FM transmitter that you plug into the headphone socket of the DVD player and tune the radio into it ..... Hope this helps... I had a 6000CD in my old Mondeo and I'm certain that had an AUX on/off setting in the menu so I assume there will be an AUX IN on the main connector. -
Oooooohhhhh ....... PROPER cars ..... That Mexico must have been awesome. I had a Mk1 Escort with flared wheel arches and 1100 engine ..... never went anywhere cos I couln't afford the wheels ...lol. I must admit though, if I saw a Mk4 2.3 Cortina today I'd have it just like that. Seen what I'm buying now 28i? ...hee hee
