  1. Yep its the same on the mk2 , approx between front and rear door on the off side and be changed easily by just lying on the floor as its easy to reach done mine last week and took all of 15mins.
  2. If there is no visible signs of wear on the pads/disks the cheapest and first thing i would do is have the brake fluid changed and have the system bled properly as it may be nothing more than old fluid and/or air in the system ! :D
  3. As per title i have a fully working aircon pump for a 2.3 2002 on galaxy . Looking for
  4. Not trying to hijack your post but on the subject of Fords ripping you off these are the latest offerings from my local dealer when asked this week on the price of a service : A INTERIM SERVICE ,
  5. leaking , leaking , leaking , simply take it back and tell them to fill / regass the system taking note of how much gas/pressure is in the system then inform them you will return a few weeks later and they can recover what gas is left in the system , i bet you it will be less than they put in . One of the biggest issues is a leaking condensor on the galaxy, very simple to check . What model / year gal do you have ??? Its not normal for the display to flash........... I would also add that i would not let a ford fitter fix my kids bike , well all the ones i have met anyhow !
  6. Sorry Swifty i couldn't tell you on that one . Mine when working correctly or once regassed has always stopped flashing straight away , the only time its started to flash on startup is when i have started to lose gas and the pressure drops . The flashing stops after a few seconds and the aircon would still work to a fashion but not great , when the system is leak free and fully gassed is works fine and doesn't flash at all . i have replaced a u/s condensor and compressor this year and both caused the aircon unit to flash . Maybe you both have a iffy aircon unit or as you say maybe its just an error code stored ???
  7. Firstly its not normal to flash it will only flash when there is a problem , i would say the most common reason for this is your aircon is low on gas so may need the gas topping up (regassing) you may have a possible leak problem , is the system performing ok ??? i'm sure a few others on here would have had the same issue many times , mine flashes on startup now but i have no gas in the system due to a knackered aircom compressor . :D
  8. Thankyou kind sir , i can now see the time :D . Now what day is it !
  9. Hi all , can those of you with the mk2 galaxy please have a nose at the clock fitted on top of the center dash at night and tell me is it illuminated , ie does it have a bulb installed as i cannot for the life of me remember and was trying to see the time last night and coudn't see a thing as mine is out ??? cheers mike ....... :D
  10. XN85 as already mentioned , i have had the exact same problem a few years back which turned out to be the leak off pipes allowing air in , these were changed ( cheap to do yourself ) and the problem went . Might be worth a try on your bus...
  11. Well just had the Firenzas fitted and first impressions are good , dare i say it better stopping than the Dunlops although this could be just a wear issue as the Dunlops were shot , i do have a 500 mile motorway trip in the next few days so i suppose if they perform well then its money well spent , as for the noise issue i'll let you know !
  12. Yep had this issue myself on my mk2 2.3 , change the fusebox (around
  13. Well for whats its worth i have just ordered 4 Sumo Firenza ST-01 215/55 R16 97W's for
  14. As per title , i'm after a full set of standard petrol injectors as fitted to the above 2.3 gal 2001 on please if anyone has a set they want to get shot of thanks mike..... <_<
  15. Good result mate ! on the subject of aftermarket parts i like most hate paying top dollar for a main dealer supplied part but a number of times now i have had to bite the bullet especially with top mounts and drop links etc , theres nothing worse than spending time and money doing a job only to have to remove the parts again and thats if like you your actually lucky enough to get to the bottom of it ! best of luck with the refund ......
  16. As title really i have a new never fitted genuine FORD Galaxy dog guard complete with fitting kit and instructions suitable for models mk1 & mk2 from 95 on , this fits behind the middle row of seats so the rears will have to be removed , very strong guard . Looking for
  17. Have to agree with the drop link replacement when it comes to knocking on the front , my Gal 2001 petrol has had 3 pairs fitted this year , i ain't joking ! When i priced the real things at fords they were stupid money approx
  18. As already mentioned mines bang in the center , never seen it move in 3yrs ! mike....
  19. Thanks gents for the recommendations , i have opted for the Philips Extreme as they could be had local . Have to wait till dark now to try them properly but you can see a vast improvment in the day lol thanks again mike...... :)
  20. Can some one suggest some sensible improvments for the headlights on a mk2 galaxy , doing alot of country lane driving and really need some brighter lights . Different bulbs possibly , i am not interested in colours just need a brighter light and cannot see me fitting some Cibi Super Oscars to a gal ??? thanks mike ;)
  21. Cheers Steve for your reply i shall give it ago mike..... :)
  22. Anyone know whats involved in removing the injectors from a mk2 2.3 petrol , is it a quick and easy job or a real pain ? Anyone know a good CHEAP supplier who doesn't want
  23. TIS says the module is behing the stereo/climate unit which looks terrible to get to. I have a mk2 2.3 ghia 2001 and i can assure you there is no cruise control module behind it , i removed half the bloody dash including the stereo and climate and it ain't in there spent days trying to locate it eventually located what i thought was the cc module which was positoined approx 6-8 inches above my clutch pedal, tucked away up under the dash it looked exactly like the unit concerned fag packet size with the correct plug going to it but after asking for more help to identify it , ie part numbers etc i gave up due to the lack of response and left it there as i didn't want to take it off if it wasn't the actual unit etc...
  24. I will endure them for now, but I can't really recommend these unless you're deaf What ? eh , what did you say ? If i am being honest most of my driving now is below 60 now so may be a cheap alternative for me , school run , dog run etc . Does anyone have an idea on price for a set of 4 and maybe a supplier in the south wales area if poss ? thanks mike..... p.s am actually running 2020's now and never really niticed any noise so maybe i am already deaf ??
