  1. Envirofone's terms and conditions do look a bit one-sided. MM, have you actually used Envirofone - has anyone else used them? I have three old 'phones, and I'd hate to send them in just to be told that they were worthless after all.
  2. Some ideas.... If the rev rise is relatively small, this is normal (you have removed the gearbox load). ... or there is no oil in the gearbox... This could be a cruise control issue? Hmmm. There must be others? Anyone???
  3. Another red mark for you, by any chance?
  4. ... hmmm. Mine hums 'In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight'.
  5. Yep, the one that feeds from the idle stabilisation valve?
  6. Fuel in the ground is (usually) cold. When in your fuel tank it warms up and expands slightly... :13:
  7. I'm sorry to say the only course of action is to buy a new wiper arm. :13: Do you have a Halfords near you? B)
  8. It's tempting to suggest duct tape... :13: It sounds like the little angels have bent the wiper arm - you could try to bend it back? Does anything look bent? Did they bend the tailgate? B) If the pivot pin is broken, you'll need a new wiper arm - I don't think it'll be worth trying to repair it. Post a photo so we can all have a look!
  9. Could this be a sticky idle stabilisation valve? ;)
  10. Well OK, drain and fill with Sentinel X300 cleaner, run the system for 10 days, then drain and fill with X100 inhibitor.
  11. Just ask O2; phone customer services and they give you an email to write to - I have an XDAIIi and need to download email - the O2 PAYG card doesn't allow this, but the Vodaphone one does. I emailed O2 and they emailed back the Network unlock code, but it did take about a month.
  12. 1. El Dingo 2. Berkshire UK, but can be found tooling around UK and Northern Europe in a shi77y A4 diesel. 3. Galaxy 2.3 fully loaded (but no swivel seats or media pack). 4. 8 months. 5. Oh yes - love it. 6. Nothing. 7. Assistant to Sir Henry (at Rawlinson End).
  13. See above in the 'pinned' section - FAQ's. There is a link that you will find interesting. :16:
  14. Yes, you are right. I have (fully licenced) VAG-COM and it doesn't communicate with the whole car. I connected to my Galaxy, did a scan, and got the following back (pic attached). So, it seems to happily connect to the VW bits at least.
  15. Andrew is right - something has been disturbed, maybe in the ECU/engine management. It could be MAF... If the engine is lumpy it would suggest that you still have engine management issues... Or maybe a dodgy coil pack? Be careful as this kind of thing can damage the cat. A lack of power suggests poor fuelling at higher engine speeds or weak ignition. Another problem could be a blocked up cat (partially blocked exhaust) - give the exhaust a gentle punch - does it rattle/sound like it's full of loose bits. But all this is guesswork. I wonder what a diagnostic plug-in would show up?
  16. :16: This is one I've actually done - some years ago I must admit - cars and motorbikes - but not a Galaxy. This is mechanical engineering at its purest! The trouble is, even minor wear patterns can produce symptoms, and have strange effects... As an example, one gearbox I stripped was stuck in fourth gear or neutral. Al that was wrong was a spring that loaded a ball that ran in a detented cam was broken - changed the spring and job done! Another 'box was stuck in neutral after only 900 miles on the clock - this was a broken shaft, so obvious when we dropped the 'box out of the car, but a bu66er to change. Shims can be a nightmare, some parts can be spring loaded (so they ping apart as you disassemble them) - and in a DIY environment, without at least four hands, you'll be very lucky to get it back together (working) once stripped down. Personally, I'd buy a recon unit... :23:
  17. :16: Our 2.3 auto is doing 23mpg on the school run/around town and 32mpg on motorway journeys.
  18. 1M broadband it's fine.
  19. This is it - but you can also use Blutack... http://www.toolstation.com/?r=p&feature=31768 Allows system to be sealed by producing a vacuum, thus valves can be changed without draining the system. Basically, stick the pointy end of one of these in the expansion tank feed hole and the open end of the other one over the overflow pipe.
  20. Hope she's feeling better now. Send her a 'Dingo Woof' from me!
  21. If you're on Evil Cat H later, I *might* tell you.
  22. Didn't the Apollo Astronauts use a pure oxygen atmosphere in the capsule until the Apollo 1 fire?
  23. :20: I am!!! :23: :23:
  24. ... is empty again tonight :23:
