  1. Hi I havn't on a Galaxy I did blow the plastic reservoir of the master cylinder once years ago fluid everywhere. If I use that pressure system now I always use a spare wheel with about 15psi max
  2. Hi Kebrina Sounds like some nice person has borrowed one of yours and cut the wires, there are a few on ebay but you might be better going to a breakers as you will need a plug with wires so you can solder or crimp to your loom. whether or not you need a man depends how clever you are :)
  3. Hi proberbly wiring in drivers door to pillar harness and possibly rear tail gate, common problem due to opening/shutting doors breaks wiring passing through.
  4. Thanks Insider, That was going to be my next port of call,I rememeber these use to be a pain in the backside with Mk3 Granadas! lol. Found 1 on ebay for
  5. No its no fun anymore lol If some b*****d hadnt stolen my Alhambra i wouldnt be in this situation. Anyway...Im wondering if maybe the central locking could be a result of droppin my keys in dogs water bowl (??) Yes all the lighting works on everything else...eg shows wen handbrake on, window switches etc al fine, doors open, etc etc...dnt recall a light on my clock...but its not there if it did lol Also the trip meter keeps resetting itself everytime i turn engine off.....i usually reset it wen fill diesel tank up and keep eye on my mileage...but it keeps going bk to 0!! Its all jst way above my head...looks like im calling out auto-electrician moro  TY for replying (again :) ) Hi After you saying about the trip resetting someone else had same problems he said was an engine management fuse but couldn't remember number just had a look in the book seems a few possibilities try fuse 28, 31, 32, 34
  6. Hi As your having problems with the wiring check around the throttle position sensor?
  7. Hi Sammie your havin loads a fun with this motor I'll try not to mention that humerous clutch :) that DVD player subjecting it to reverse polarity you may have blown a milli amp fuse inside the player can you test the wiring going to it with a voltmeter or test light. Have all these other problems arisen since you been messing about with the VCR/DVD I wouldn't think they was related the central locking can be the wiring harness through door pillar to drivers door. Does the lighting work on the central panel switches, heater contro,l light in the analogue clock door window switches?
  8. Hi when you turn aircon on with engine running is the pump shaft turning with the pulley or is just the pulley rotating. It doesn't sound like its pumping. You should here a clunk from the electromagnetic clutch when you switch it on.
  9. should a fan kick in when the air con s turned on ? is this the main cooling fan in front of the engine or is there another one tucked away somewhere under the engine covers specifically for the air con? Hi Yes fans on inside of radiator should start soon as you turn on aircon they will automatically increase in speed if engine temp rises above normal
  10. I had the same (2002 TDI Ghia) problem, solved it by sealing along the top (and down the side for 8") of the windscreen rubber. Don't know why it started I've owned the car from new and it has never had the windscreen touched. Hope this helps. Ady Hi thanks for that, alot of windscreen replacement is blamed for screen leakage when its down to the original fitment.
  11. Firstly hi and welcome to the site. Just wondered did they pressure test the system before putting in the gas
  12. Hi there First thing is this the 4 or 5 speed changing fluid and filter on 4 speed is easy as sump can be removed and filter changed, on the 5 speed you cannot change filter without G/box removal, on both boxes you will not be able to remove all the fluid because of design so to do a good change you need to change fluid 2 or 3 times with a drive between changes the colour of the fluid is a good indication as to the condition of the fluid it should be a cherry red colour. This is all against what Fords say the fluid is in there for life. I take that to mean 300rpm rise with no increase in speed Have you had the car long or just bought it with this fault I think I would be inclined to do a fluid level check first you will also see the colour of fluid also. There is a set procedure for checking fluid level/draining in the FAQ section Hope thats of help to you ;)
  13. Hi there I think you may be getting confused with Auxilary heater and booster heater. I see from your signiture that you have the V6 you will only have the Auxilary heater which is the unit located in the rear cmpartment on the N/S between the rear rows of seats, if you have aircon in the rear then you will also get cooled air in the rear. The Booster heater is only for the TDI version and aids engine warm up in cold weather Haynes books only available for MK 1 TIS discs are available on ebay which covers MK 2 and other Fords ;)
  14. :) ;) ;) :46: Sorry couldn't resist that
  15. Maybe i not using the Forum right but when i search for Roll Restrictor i just get my post up? :) hi is this what your looking for http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Galaxy-MK2-Engi...=item5ad2afe729
  16. Hi again I dont think you will be able to see the data sticker with it in situ its on the end of the casing where the lead comes through dont forget the unit has torx headed bolts give them a spray with penetrating oil and also the exhaust box and inlet pipe as Mirez said they both need removing. The heater unit is in a cradle which is what you are undoing to drop down, once its down and you undo the top of the cradle/bracket you can then slide the bracket off, there are small packing pieces that should be stuck to the bracket they usually come unstuck and fall out on removal if they fall out you need to stick them back in otherwise the heater will be loose in the bracket/cradle.
  17. Many thanks for the replies. Is there a link on the forum about how to chnage this as I ain't all that practical !! Hi its quite simple if you have the correct tools. Just remove bolts 1 and 2 as in diagram You may need the assistance of someone to rock/pull or push the engine to help in removal/replacement of bolts
  18. Hi there have a check on your front carpets see if there wet may be heater matrix? If not is it building up a lot of pressure? if you leave the cap off with engine running can you see any air bubbles or is the coolant pumping out the filler? How's the colour of the engine oil should be black, any milkyness would indicate water in the oil. See how you get on
  19. Hi there I have Mercon V in mine no problem at all I would be carefull with cheaper ATF's they are not fully synthetic
  20. Hi there you can change the filter on the 4 speed box they have the sump at the bottom, on the five speed box the filter is behind the valve block on the side, dont go there. I was unable to find anything listed from my local supplier but did find a web site saying that Mercon and the later Mercon V are suitable for fords I also spoke to a Jatco G/Box repairer and they use Dexron 3. I used Mercon V in mine.
  21. Hi there The pulley on the alternator has a clutch inside it they can make a sound similar to the belt slipping more so when engine just been started they usually pack up around the 90000 mls, also the belt tensioner can give a vibrating rattle when engine ticking over
  22. Hi there has all this happened since you have had the car? just going through your list 1. The air con system is prone to leaks usually around the condenser/drier and pipes, usually a good aircon specialist will test the system before filling with gas as the gas is quite expensive. 2. If its only the passenger footwell thats wet thats usually down to the rear windscreen washer pipe pulled apart easy to fix can be glued or cable tied, if that water has found its way under the passenger seat that is where the control unit and beeper for the parking sensors is so that may be related. 3. If there's no free movement in the wiper linkage the arm may not be fitted in the correct position. 4. Belt tensioner thats an easy one to change
