Air Con Components
chrispb123456 replied to jbgt2's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi there and welcome to the site You dont say whether you have had the system checked and if no problems regassed by a specialist auto air-con engineer. They will vacuum the whole system check for any leaks before refilling with gas and then adding fleurecent dye which can help find any future leaks. Air-con will not work if the gas has leaked away. -

Hi Mark I changed my oil and filter today, whilst under there I had a look at the turbo vane actuator arm, I can pull it down against the action of a spring very tough made a nasty mark on my thumb didn't feel like it was sticking, EGR valve was much easier to move again no sticking. I know this is tempting fate have had the car nearly six years no probs with turbo so far.

Do you get any noises from the hydraulic tappets, oil changes need to be done regular on these engines, they need the 5W-30 synthetic oil. If the tappets get blocked that can cause uneven running, tappet noise, insufficiant valve clearence can cause valves to burn out.

Window Failure
chrispb123456 replied to Adam Smith's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi again Originally a spongy material is stuck around the edge of the glass, with age this disintegrates and allows the glass to slip out of the clamps. The clamp surface is knurled to aid gripping the spongy material. The clamp screws are the torx head type which need to be tightened fully, the pressure exerted on the glass will depend on the thickness and compressability of the material used. -

Wiper Linkage Removal And Regrease.
chrispb123456 replied to suzuki91's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi great info provided by all in this thread especially the originator Suzuki91. I managed to do the job in just over two hours without removing the wiper mechanism from the car thanks to the thread contributors. Hi and welcome to the site, well done for doing it on the car, although if you had removed the mechanism which is fairly simple you could have changed your pollen filter with ease as they are a bugger to do. -
not sure if you have read these they may help http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...amp;#entry70615
