  1. Hi you need to change the leaking caliper then bleed ALL the brakes
  2. yes thats right but cant get any heat to 2nd and 3rd rows, 3rd row goes mad with cold air when you put that on, Hi there Can you confirm whether your Galaxy is diesel or petrol? It sounds like the electric water pump or run on pump as its known has packed up that will cause only cold air in the rear, the engines water pump is not strong enough to pump the coolant through all the extra pipework and the auxilary heater (thats the one in the rear) and assuming this is a diesel car through the booster heater aswell.
  3. Hi Dave glad to hear you had success with the booster heater :) did you change MAF aswell or have you still loss of power
  4. Hi you said you have changed stop light switch did you check if there was power at the switch before you changed it. What year & model is yours and has it got traction control (TCS)
  5. Hi again may be worth dropping unit down first just to make sure what model heater you have. I know they did change the model on the later Galaxy's, I have the part no. of the BERU plug which is 0100.226.340 that fits the Ebersp
  6. Hi if its a Mk 1 it should be fuse 20. If its mk 2 its fuse 15 the other filiment is your tail light hence stop and tail bulb LB380 and you should have a smaller single filiment for tail lghts LB207 aswell Hi forgot to say that fuse 15 on Mk 2 covers some function of engine management aswell thats proberbly why coil light is flashing
  7. Hi if its a Mk 1 it should be fuse 20. If its mk 2 its fuse 15 the other filiment is your tail light hence stop and tail bulb LB380 and you should have a smaller single filiment for tail lghts LB207 aswell
  8. Hi galaxy/sharan are the same for your year so any rear caliper petrol or diesel long as its mk 1. 94-00
  9. Hi its not something silly like the exhaust blowing or manifold gasket?
  10. Hi there sounds like a classic case of MAF sensor faulty cant condone use of gas oil as Mirez has said but providing it was clean there wont be any lasting effects, however it will take more than a few tankfulls to clear traces of the dye. ;)
  11. i thought the heater cause the carpet to be wet on the sides by the centre console but this is dry. it seems more wet towards the door. the door seal and the weather strip seem ok, how can i check if screen is leaking? thanks Hi you can take the inside A pillar trim off these can funnel water down behind dash this may show evidence of water ingress from the top and sides, if you can get the carpet and underfelt back while you get someone to run a hose over the screen area and doors while your inside.
  12. Hi dont know of anything on that side have you eliminated heater and windscreen, the boxes under the seats are the lowest point so will eventually find its way there, whats the condition of your door weatherstrips? some else had a problem with water running across door scuff trim
  13. Hi there quite a few posibilities, start with the easy one check the scuttle drains are clear thats the area under the windscreen where all leaves and dirt block the drain flaps and can send rainwater down through the heater, next if you have a sunroof the drain tubes can get blocked/split or even detached. Aircon drain can become blocked if pollen filter is missing or damaged also is a service item that can get overlooked. Heater matrix leaking with loss of coolant and steamed up windows and lastly bad fitting/leaking windscreen. N/S footwell only can be due to rear screenwash pipe pulled apart there is a join in the pipe under the scuff trim this can be clicked back together and a small cable tie to secure. :) thanks for the reply no sunroof so that eliminates 1. where are the scuttle drains? are these right under the wiper mechanism at the the back where you cannot reach? also where is the aircon drain? thanks Hi again Lift the bonnet pull off the rubber strip that goes across the back under the plastic cowls dont loose the 2 short bits if there still there now there's 3 bolts 10mm spanner size one at each end and one in the middle that whole cover then pulls outwards, you may find it easier to remove the top cover over the engine and the air filter box it gives you more room this also gives you the opportunity to check condition of pollen filter. I use an air line to blow out all the leaves etc the drains are in the corners on each side test with hose or can you should see water coming out from wheel arch covers. Air con outlet pipe behind engine from bulkhead (easier from under car) water would normally drip from here when aircon is being used
  14. Hi there the light comes on when there is a break in the curcuit of the pad wear indicator lead, if its been activated by worn out pads causing the the light to come on then replacing the pads and the leads will cure the problem, however pads are available without wear leads which will leave the light on. Check the o/s rear first make sure a new wear lead has been plugged in to the loom there is only one indicator on rears the fronts have them on both. Once you have found the fault the light will go out. If you are unable to find a fault at the wheels then you may need Vagcom to pinpoint the fault.
  15. Good luck on getting it out without removing box
  16. Hi there You said you topped up the fluid? was it actually empty which I suspect it was you need to check very carefully around wheel units and brake pipes, do you know if you got ABS or the old conventional vacuum servo if you still cant see any visible leak and you have the latter your master cylinder could be leaking back into your servo. All Galaxy's have disc brakes front and rear you need to check all four wheels, that fluid is leaking somewhere and you need to find it dont just keep topping it up!! :16:
  17. Hi there Did you disconnect any wiring harness while removing gearbox? check for corroded damaged wiring. slow warm up more likely to be faulty thermostat and non fuctioning booster heater (latter dependent on outside air temp.

  19. Many thanks.Yes it does lots of short journeys Hi there As a + to all other advice it may be worth reducing the oil & filter change interval to 5000 mls instead of the 10000 mls recommended by Ford.
  20. Hi again yes the photo's on page 1 have been deleted if you go to the bottom of that page you will see a page menu you need to get to page 6 then scroll down and you will find, they are there have just looked at them to make sure.
  21. You have a mkII galaxy, not a mk 1. Different setup I think. He has a P reg Mk1 Nice pic by the way that's a nice 2nd layer :(
