Car Stereo Won't Turn On?
chrispb123456 replied to Bartnbeans's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
you need to check the supplies with your multimeter to confirm whether the problem could be between the fuse box and radio connector. Check the brown and red wire with ignition on then off with key out. -

Turbo Oil Pipe
chrispb123456 replied to sicknote's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Before the oil pipe can be removed/replaced you need to sacrifice a 17mm spanner to hold the union while the tube nut is turned. It needs to be ground down to fit between the turbo. -

Fuse 30 is 20 amp Fuse 31 is 3 amp Are you saying there's no power at the switched supply? -
You will need to jack up the car or put it on ramps owing to the depth of the tray. There are for bolts, two each side and two nuts at the rear.
-
Check turbo outlet pipe, there's a short rubber elbow pipe just before joining the metal tube, (drivers side) will be revealed once the under tray is removed, also check the intercooler under the main radiator.

Car Stereo Won't Turn On?
chrispb123456 replied to Bartnbeans's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Is this an aftermarket radio? as yellow doesn't sound part of the cars loom colours. There should be two power feeds, one permanently live the other only live when ignition on and in the accessory position. -

Door Wiring Help!

On newer vehicles they offset the entry/exit points on the doors, on saying that it doesn't seem to stop the tailgate wiring problem. -

Assuming you have the climatronic you can scan the hvac with vagcom that will give info on flap motors not working etc -
Wouldn't use it on a motorway till it's checked, unlikely to overheat around town especially this time of year.

Hi and welcome to the forum You need to check engine water pump impeller as they have a habit of shearing off, you can check this by removing thermostat and looking through to the rear of the pump. To remove pump you need to remove timing cover and belts. Also ensure electric run on pump is working (behind fuel filter)

Flashing dash lights when turning over, sounds like low battery voltage. Have you tried with jump leads from another vehicle? -

Think I'd be inclined to check cam belt and timing as white smoke could well be retarded timing. -
Galaxy 1.9Tdi Won't Start
chrispb123456 replied to Shabazmo's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
There's no problem using tipex or white paint as long as the markings are accurate and the belt correctly tensioned. Recheck alignment after turning crank two revolutions, even when using locking tools this is standard procedure. -
Limp Mode - Faulty Turbo?
chrispb123456 replied to skypilot's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The rev's at which the ECU goes into limp mode is not specific, it's the time, iirc 7 seconds in an overboost situation will cause limp mode. -
Them bits of foam in bags I have on my MK2, they seem to turn up in the hard to get at places even found some on my Mk3 in the rear compartments. By the way that drip tray you referred to is commonly called the bulkhead extension or scuttle plate, it's removal provides better access to al those inaccessible items at the back of the engine area. I wonder if there's been previous accident damage on the car and as you say cutting or welding gear may have caused it .

Just a little intrigued what's happened there, is there any evidence of burnt wiring or scorched paintwork.

Air Filter Dimensions
chrispb123456 replied to acecard's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
38 MPG ish is the best as yet but that's driving like a nun  soon as you put your foot down any thing from thirty to thirty five. It is improving with the miles just over 12.000 now but it will never beat the Mk2 on fuel consumption.
