Aircon Cold And Warm
marinabrid replied to marinabrid's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
another odd one, went back to clear the code, connected it up and get message no response from controller all the other controllers can be contacted what a sod ! i tried reconnecting 10 times will try again tomorrow though i doubt if clearing the fault will make the rear cold unless you know different -
sorted, the handbook says turn key to the left. on google its to the right, this then works. i did the fob that had the new batts and it worked the can't understand why the other fob didn't ! very odd, then i google again, you have to reprogram any other fobs you have for the car within 15 seconds.

can't work this one out, have turned the key 3 times to the left pressed the lock button and held it down while pressing unlock 3 times doesn't seem to make any difference the key fob still won't open car , any ideas ?

marinabrid replied to marinabrid's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
thanks you been a great help, we run a BB in Bridlington if ever you fancy a few days by the sea discount for members ! the cd link worked, i found another on there from an 2001 same model that has the same square 12 pin fitting and it has two mounting arms which i presume attach to the 2 screws that are fitted in the top of the storage box -
right well the car starts with both keys so i presume i need the remote fob programming where i turn the key in the door lock. in the handbook ford call this synchronising

marinabrid replied to marinabrid's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
yes i made sure the settings were low on both tried it on auto setting then reduced the temp on each side. the thing is blowing very loudly at the back when fan set to maximum but just warm air not even slightly chilly i will plug the laptop in now and see if anything is logged -
Well looks like i got many questions now i moved up in th world to a mk 2 after searching the forum i can't find the answer so here goes, It has for sure got dual air con its got vents above middle row and back row of seats and 2 sections on the control panel the odd thing is its blowing freezing cold at the front but the middle and rear are both warm like outdoor temp, def not cold at all no matter how i adjusted the temp setting down to low the front stayed lovely and cold but not the others. whats going on does it have 2 seperate sections that need regassing thanks

Where Is Cd Changer ?
marinabrid replied to marinabrid's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
yes it has factory fit blaupunkt sat nav with the ford booklet telling how to work it and the dvd screens in the headrests and the dvd control unit in the rear console but there is no cd changer in the boot, i found a wiring loom with a square multi plug sitting there under under the compartment. either it wasn't fitted as the loom is tie wrapped down or someone has had it away with the changer. -
Hi all just swopped and got a mk 2 with remote locking on the key fob, one fob work fine the other didn't light up. i put new batteries in and the red light now works but it doesn't unlock the car. reading the link on this can someone clarify, will the fob with the new batts need recoding and in doing that will i need to recode the currently working key ? thanks

Where Is Cd Changer ?
marinabrid replied to marinabrid's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
nothing there ! i did some research on web and found a thread that said some models that have the in car dvd for the rear passengers a multimedia set don't have a cd changer fitted. wonder if someone could verify this. seems very odd not to fit a cd changer to a top of the range car. -

Thanks, i was looking at a 2.8 auto with 75,000 miles on and wondering if thats classed as a high milage for this kind of box, the owner says he's had no work done on the box so i was a little concerned.
-
Hi all can someone tell me if the 2.8 petrol uses the same auto gearbox as the smaller engines and diesels, there seems to be a lot of failures from reading on here and i was thinking of swopping for an auto. were all the auto boxes vw made or were the failures from ford ? or are they all as bad as each other as more reading seems to suggest. thanks

Where To List For Sale
marinabrid replied to marinabrid's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
thanks for that, just getting old and poor eyesight ! -
sorry for asking in this section its the only one I've ever used, where would i advertise to sell my galaxy is there a specific page cant seem to find it. thanks
-
i think the ticking just gets faster the more you rev it but its hard to tell as the engine noise gets louder , like you i always do regular oil change and keep it in tip top shape, think it must be age/wear related but it don't seem to cause trouble of any kind, I'm sure there must be other high milers out there with something to say ?

Power Steering And Starter Motor
marinabrid replied to Zaw's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
jeeez thats a lot of cash, i would be onto trading standards and see what they say, if they have mis diagnosed it should be up to them to put right. Theses galaxys in the wrong garages hands with mechanics who don't know much about them is not a good situation. -
Fitting New Servo Pipe
marinabrid replied to marinabrid's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
got it fitted but fiddly as you have to remove the fuel filter and a couple of air pipes to access it, the servo end does pop in and out easily but the other end on the vacuum pump is very very tight fit , its a plastic ribbed nozzle that is part of the vacuum pump lid that it slides onto, anyone changing it is advised to prise it off very carefully in case it snaps i heated the end with hair dryer and it slipped on very easily.
