how do big daddy the ford no. for the relay is stamped on it to identify it. 95 vw 14 A 707AA now where abouts is it ? is it in the front ones or the ones underneath ?

this relay must be somewhere as the ford part no. for it is 1030584 however even the ford parts guy cant tell me where it is fitted ! any one know ?

hi all, on the later mk 1 98 on where is the heated seat relay ? ive looked in the handbook but it does not show or even list it, or is it called something else in the handbook , no relay under seats as on earlier models just the wires from the seat to the wiring harness. thanks

anyone else had this trouble? i go out and start the tdi from cold, fires straight up, i move car 3 yards and stop, go back 2 hours later and the thing just cranks for ages then fires, i put back in garage and next morning wiat till glow light go out then much cranking again b4 it fires,, no normal i think then drive to work 10 miles leave for 8 hours and car fires striaght up, back to its normal well behaved self. fine again next day something with the fuel i think. anyone any ideas ? thanks

i did it on my tdi no difference in warm up time , only thing is when car gets to normal temp it doesnt stay there it just got hotter and hotter , then fans come on. so i removed. NOT RECOMMENDED.

no only underneath. you can follow the pipe from the solenoid that is on the bulkhead

just look for the braided vacuum pipe that comes down from the solenoid, it goes onto the round thing which is call the turbo wastegate actuator.

90 mph !! id say it was working ok.

ooooo never noticed that ! think i mean 70 and that was downhill. mine was a simple hose connected wrong. i now got to 85 ish and goes up hill ok. :(

it controls the turbo waste gate , on the turbo housing, you will see a round object with a vacuum pipe on it, thats is connected to the charge valve. there is a rod coming from the thing into the turbo itself, this should be free to move, you can check by having someone look at it as you startt the car up as you satrt it should move and return or move when you rev it up. mine was siezed and it does cause problems. also make sure vacuum pipes are on the correct places as i had one crossed and couldnt get above 780 mph. i no expert on this and no doubt someone else will put you right. also look under turbo boost on the search and then go thru all of them.

can we have more details , what speed can you get what rpm in high gear etc any noises ?

have caught a nice chap at petrol station, looked at his, the pipe goes right round the back of the engine and dissaperas somewhere below !!!!!!! would like to know though just out of curiosity.

thnaks anyway all sorted the black one goes tp egr and brown to tuirbo solenoid they on bulkhead.

mk 1 tdi 90 1997 on the bulkhead the egr solenoid and the turvo boost solenoid have on them a multi plug, one is black the other is brown. what color pl;ug goes to which, think i may have mixed them up ! thanks

are they siezing up on the linkage inside the door ? may want oiling up , just an idea.

this is the prob with my pipes ! i need to know to which one it goes bearing in mind that the early tdi 90 has a different turbo solenoid to the later models with a vacuum tank. mine has a small square one next to the egr solenoid. on later ones they are all piped in together as in the haynes book but early ones are a seperate. i think,

hi all, tdi 90 1997 the pipe from the intercooler that comes up form the bottom and up over the front of the engine, on it is the air temp sensor i think, next to it is a small bore pipe similar to the vacuum pipes on a take offf point does anyone know where this pipe is supposed to go and whats its purpose ? i have attached a pic and drawn round the pipe, pinched seatkids pic but where is he ?
