hi all, does anyone know on the wire block that fits on the aux heater which wires do you check for voltage etc to make sure power is getting to the thing before dismantling it. thanks

hi all just got this gal a 97 tdi it got no engine undertray last owner had car four years he saisd it never had one on with no problems, thought id read on here that a tray MUST be fitted for some safety reasons, if so will the later model mk2 gal undertray fit the mk 1 as i seen a 2nd hand one from a mk 2 for salw. thanks all.

bit confused, why would the vacuum pipes to the controls cause a buzzing similar to the lights left on buzzer sound ? :rolleyes:

it be somewhere on pass side or could be under pass seat not coming from in front of driver.

morninall just got this other galaxy a 97 tdi 90 on start up for a couple of seconds just after engine running , there be someting that make a buzzing sound under the dash on passenger side , is it a relay or something, it not happen on our other galaxy a 98 year 110 tdi is it normal ?/ everything works ok noise stops after 5 seconds thanks all merry crimsamas cant spell 2 day had drink last nite. <_<

hi again, while swopping the wifes throttle pedal i thought id swop the dreaded brake light switch as well, looked for how to do on here and set aboot the job. haynes book said twist clockwise to release the ford tis disc said twist anticlockwise. when i twist clockwise the relasing lugs are in the wrong way, if twisti in anti clockwise then the switch jams against the pedal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how the !!!!!!!!!! do you release this switch ? its a 4 pin one . obviously i could break the old one out but what aboot putting the new one in.

is it possible to do a modification and make a hole or trap door to the plug to save taking the cover off each time ?

what the difference between the AFN TDI AND THE ENGINE B4 IT I B LIEVE its a ahu code fittrd to galaxy up to 97. are the better worse indifferent or what. also do they take as long to heat up or longer if not fitted with a booster heater.

I THINKING OF GETTING IT, THERE NO BOOSTER HEATER ON IT ARE THE EARLY ENGINES A LONG WARM UP JOB SAME AS THE AFN TYPE ? just wondered why this sensor seem to cause probs far end of travel, you wouldnt think it would wear out as you dont spend all the day with your foot flat down. why dont it cause probs in the upper and middle area of travel where most driving is done ? has anyone opened one and tried to clean it up and make it work right again reading thru the threads nearly all the problems are related to when the pedal is floored . i dont knbow just wondered as it cost

neil to save furthur confusion, the name booster heater and auxillary heater are usually known as the same thing. the heater in the car is a front and a rear, the rear you are able to switch on and off with the switch on the dash that is a master switch and control the temp with the knob above the pass seat and also controlthe fan speed at the back. if it goes faulty its usually the glow plug and you can get them on ebay at the moment half the dealer price.

hi all again,wife have a little sqeek on engine, 110 tdi 98 year. its the idler pully i presume, when looking into engine and following the belt anti clockwise from the alternator there be a pully that appears to held by one bolt on a small arm with a 90 degree bend in it that comes out of the engine block. iif i spray wd on it it does stop sqweeking. it be a plastic pulley with a metal outside. do i just undo bolt and replace or must i de tension belt first. thanks

got fault sorted throttle position sensor, on tis disc it show a removeable part apparantly this is for upt0 97 models. later ones have a one piece unit not shown on my tis disc. a hella part and cost

hi just had code reader on car camer up with throttle posotion sensor faulty. dealer needs part number off the old unit, where is the sensor fitted in engine or on pedals ? also whewre can you buy this other than dealers thanks all its a98 tdi 110 afn engine

just got more info from the wife. said all was normal till she camer into a town and changed from 5th down to 4th, as she did that the power the dissaperard till she turned off engine. whats this aboot two switches on the pedal ? which is the brake light one and will that cause this problem thanks
