  1. For the last few weeks, i have had a rattle coming from somewhere around the rear passenger near side seat area. It seems to be where the near side rear seat, and the middle seat seatbelts are, and at first i thought that they were rattling against each other, but pushing them down between the seats together, or just pushing one down and leaving one up, has not made any difference. I have pushed both seats forward to enable me to feel under both seats for anything loose, but nothing. It doesn't even make any difference if someone is sitting in either of the seats or not, the rattle still occurs.. Anyone experienced similar, or anyone got any ideas on the subject?? Its a 2010 facelift model Cheers
  2. I have the 17" wheels on my Titanium model,(225 x 50 x R17) and have always assumed that you cannot get a spare wheel (as in spacesaver) to fit this model? I know i could always carry a "full 17" replacement with me, but that seems not worth it, and also dangerous if it is not fixed somehow to the car Anyone else know of a 17" spacesave or spare wheel to fit the Mklll facelift Titanium model??
  3. Don't know what the RRP price is for this, but there is one seller on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ford-Galaxy-Load-protection-Luggage-Net-1384455-2006-Onwards-/220766488157?pt=UK_Car_Interior_Accessories&hash=item3366b5465d Still seems a hefty amount to pay for a luggae net
  4. Has anyone bought and used a rear back bike rack for the Mklll The one i mean is the one that fits over the back window, and you can put two bikes on it. I used to have one for my Mkll and it was fine. I realise that the rear glass on the Mklll comes to the edge of the door fitting, so usind side straps could be a problem Cheers, any advice gratefully recieved
  5. I posted this question last year (in the Mk1 and Mkll forum), but thought it was worth raising again, this time in the correct forum, seeing as the Mklll Gal Titanium and Titanium X have now been on the market some time. Does anyone know if it is possible for the Sony DAB radio fitted in my 2010 facelift Titanium model, to be able to show the track and artist currently playing, as my DAB home radio can do??? I have tried pressing the "info" button on the Sony DAB, when listening to a DAB station but it just come up with "block 1" and station name. I am assuming not, as i have tried virtually every station broadcasting on DAB, to get the info, but to no avail Cheers Dave
  6. Thanks NRC a very accurate description of what i have had happen over the last 18 months of driving my 140PS 2.0 Powershift model Scooper1 comment that "After some time you get used to it and don't notice most of the time" is also correct, and my driving style has changed to accomodate the car's idiosyncrasies. I find that driving it as a "manual" car actually helps the "lag" both at speed and also pulling away at islands, as with no clutch to manage its just simply a shift down or up on the gearstick. The only thing is to remeber to change "up" when you have exited the roundabout, quite often i find myself at 40mph still in second gear and now at 3500 revs!!!
  7. Same happened to me Liam Plugged in the compressor that comes with the car (Conti) into the rear socket to blow up the kids bike tyres, and it blew the fuse 2 Min job to replace fuse (once you have read the owners manual to discover which one it is)
  8. I've got the 2010 facelift 140ps 2.0 Diesel Titanium Powershift model, and regularly check Eco Mode I am pleased to say that i am nearly always on 5 green "petals" My style of driving is around town and short journeys, leave it in the "automatic" mode, but any journey over a few miles, drive it as a "manual" car By doing the "manual" driving, you can keep reves below 2000rpm, and change gear at will. Dont forget in the powershift model, theres no clutch, so driving as a "manual" car, really is dead easy My average mpg around town, is 43-44mpg, but on longer runs i can get 50 -52mpg Yesterday on a 110 mile journey from Shrops, to Peterborough (M54, M6, A14, A605) i got 50.2mpg Never exceeded 70mph on Motorways / A14 as by doing this the revs are always at 2000rpm max The car has now done 31,000 miles, and seems to be running at its best It took until around 20,000 miles before i was seeing this type of mpg return
  9. Hi Bobby I have got the Titanium Model with 17" Wheels Does the Mondeo "spare" as a 17" still fit the bill???????
  10. Apologies to Halfords They are
  11. I need to replace the front wiper blades on my Mklll model I believe its the 30" and 26" "aerotwin" set of blades required Halfords are charging
  12. What exact model do you have of the Galaxy??? The "x" mark, currently comes as the top range model to the Titanium, and gets you: Titanium X features: 17
  13. Does anyone know if there are any Software updates for the Mklll Gal?? There were some posts around 12 months ago relating to this, so just wondered if anyones car had been to a dealers recently, and it has been "software updated" ? Mine is now 18months old (Sept 10) and i have not been informed by my local dealer about any updates so maybe there are none to be done?? Just checking. Cheers

  15. Hi Just looking through older posts, there have been quite a few from people asking if the Powershift models are any good, and people who have bought a Powershift model and complained about the power lag at roundabouts etc. Just wondering what peoples impressions are now, as they would have had the car around 6 to 9 months?? personally i have had my 140bhp Titanium model for 9 months and done around 15,000 miles in it. (60 plate facelift model) I find that i drive it in "sports manual mode" as much as i drive it in "auto" mode The reason for this is better MPG (46mpg on a long journey is "manual mode" versus around 40mpg in "auto", and also i get frustrated in auto, as it takes up to around 3000 revs for the gearbox to change up from 3rd to 4th, or 4th to 5th. I still have problems with power lag when coming to roundabouts, i.e slow down then try a quick getaway, and no power for around 1 and a half seconds, then boom you surge forwards. I took it for its 12500 service back in July, and asked about a software update, but was told there was no update available at that time. Overall very happy with the car, just these small frustrations that i have had to get used to. Whats everyone elses feelings now the cars a few months old.??
  16. Experienced my first puncture last Friday on my Mklll Gal Coming off a motorway slip road i felt as if i ran over something on the road, and lo and behold about 2 miles later felt the front offside tyre "pop" Managed to pull over quickly and started the process of trying to blow it back up with the compressor and "gunk" sealant. No joy, for as quickly as the gunk was being pumped in, it was happily coming out of the hole in the middle of the tyre Rang for recovery and the RAC attended. Chap bodged a wedge of rubber in the hole, and used more sealant, then blew tyre up Good news was it held, and i was able to get home The only good news is that the tyres are the originals from new, and have done around 19,000 miles, so i was looking to change the fronts soon anyway Rang round 4 or 5 tyre places in my area, as i needed tyres fitted first thing saturday. Was quoted anything from
  17. Thanks Swagger I have the compressor and the "gunk" to squirt into a punctured tyre, that came with the car as new I have also got a can of Halfords puncture repair glue /gas stuff, just in case the first option dont work Hopefully no punctures in the first place.
  18. PS i should say that the tyres on the car currently (factory fitted from new) are NOT run flats, just the ordinary tyres, and i am not really interested in putting run flats on.
  19. Hi I will be needing to replace the front two tyres on my 140PS Titanium Gal, in the next month or so Tyre size is 225 50 R17 and i was just wondering if you have these size tyres on your car, what make do you find good and value for money, and which ones are not good in terms of quick wearing, road noise, poor grip etc etc Cheers Dave
  20. I have a Sony DAB radio / cd in my 2010 Gal (maybe should have posted this in the Mklll forum) Anyway, i was wondering if anyone could answer this question Last year when i was driving in the USA, i hired a ford that had a DAB radio in it When listening to radio stations, the display would show Artist, Song and Album of the tune that was playing at the time Now my DAB unit in the Gal is great on showing ipod / cd track names and artists, but the DAB radio just shows the Station name Is it possible yet in the UK, to get artists and/or track names on the Sony DAB unit, as fitted to new Fords?? Any advice greatfully recieved
  21. Can you buy a rear parcel/load cover for the Mklll Gal?? I have looked through the options and parts list for the Mklll and it doesn't appear as a part to buy. I did see one advertised on ebay that said fit new shape Gal up to current year, but didnt want to buy if it is not correct If anyone has bought one, do you have a part number and price? Cheers Dave
  22. The service level on the Mklll is every 12,500 miles (according to my local Fraud Dealer) Mine has done 14,500 but it did not show "service required" when it got to 12,500 so i assume not
  23. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=22485 Don't know if the above link works, but if not go to the Mklll Technical Section, then to Page 2 and have a look at "Powershift Frustrations" the post i made about my 140ps Mklll Tdi model
  24. Just had the first service (12,500) done on my 2.0 140ps Diesel Gal (Duratorq engine) at a Ford dealer Total bill was
