  1. Sodding hell ! Bloodthirsty women!! Anyway I can't fight I have to stay in and polish my zimmer frame - It has it's MOT next week and I have to change the rubber feet. Besides it wouldn't be a fair fight - I cheat!!!!!!!!!!! B) :D
  2. BT's network is NOW fibre .... thats the point I was making ... but they had to spend
  3. Most of your BT "Facts" are wrong - I also think you may have slightly miscalculated the number of employees NTL has in the UK. More like 6400 than 64,000! :D Whatever way you cut it - NTL is no way British - BT is wholly and totally British.
  4. Direct line to God you say?........
  5. On a slightly more serious note - Do a search - this subject has been covered fairly recently - Look for Bio Diesels.
  6. I think you need to set this up in your controls.
  7. Well whatever it is it is electrical! damaged cables is still favourite. Crossed filament - this can sometimes occur in bulbs like stop/tail that have two filaments (the littel metal coil that actually glows) whereby one breaks and falls onto the other. It's worth a look and very cheap to do. Ask someone to look at your brake lights reverse lights etc - you can check the reverse lights by leaving the ignition on - the engine off and in reverse gear - then go and look. The brake light switch is the one up underneath the dash by the brake pedals - bit difficult to get at. Anyway - that should keep you going for a few minutes.
  8. If it's not the wiring looms in the rear door then it might be worth looking at the brake light switch. Just make sure it works. Also check the actual bulbs - maybe a crossed filament is cuasing an issue. It does all come back to the wiring in the door though!!. Did you look at both rubber boots? (mine has two - as I think yours wil) it may be only one set of wires is damaged.
  9. Pics are too bloody late I know- but as I got soaked taking them you have to see them!!
  10. You could try the brake light switch - as this does sound rather wierd - or you could do a search  :(
  11. Well it all depends on how well you feel you can cope. It is a matter of three bolts plus a cable plug to remove the wiper mech complete (once you have removed the wiper arms of course!) Once you have the mechanism out of the vehicle you can access the wiper spindles . Usually only one is seized but both will benefit from cleaning and greasing. Do a search as Mumo4 has a good description on doing the job. Do not be tempted to leave for long as the chances of ruining the motor are very high.
  12. Wow - She really is smart
  13. No need for appologies..that is just sks humour. :D we are a mad bunch on here. :o when i did my linkage ..i knew nothing about anything.... Hmmm... this implies you know something about anything! Is that true? :o ;)
  14. What a load of drivel, the sooner these devices are banned the better in my opinion. If you're overtaking a lorry, assuming a 40 foot arctic, you're doing 20 mph over it's speed, thats 30' per second, you would therefore pass it in under 2 seconds if you stick to 50mph. Driver education is whats needed. Bring on the flames  Regards - J Iagree with John
  15. Yep - apart from a replacement air con at 1 year old - all she has had is service items , A door speaker and discs & pads - oh and the drop links twice. Original exhaust and clutch - My Mk1 has 134K miles and that is on the orginal clutch and exhaust too
  16. My MK2 finally completed it's first 100,000 miles today!! ;)
  17. I have three ID's (and the mods are aware)but I think I am in the minority - I think you'll find that most people aren't as weird as me and are just ordinary members. Even if there are fewer than 4000 what number would make you happy?
  18. And your point is what exactly?
  19. I left home this morning at 6.30 it was slightly misty - and yes there they were the tossers with their rear fogs on with visbility at about 20 miles!! I drove all the way to York this morning and arrived around 11.00 - Left at 4.30 and arrived home at 9.30 a round trip of 556 miles - average speed 59mph give or take and with a MPG of 47.8 - and when I got within 5 mile sof home hter they were with their sodding foglamps again!!!!!!
  20. Yes the site will remain - and Yes you can do all the things you want - but the two need to be separate - What you all need and want appears to be something completely different from what we have - If the stats are to be believed we have in excess of 4000 members - but we appear to have around 8-10 members who want something different - and without any kind of agreement beyond that of those running it, no mandate to make this great leap forward. I enjoy this site tremendously - but I will be taking a back seat from now and will only post when and if I need help or can offer it. I really like the characters I have "met" on here - but I do not want to meet anyone or change the relationship beyond what is it. That's just me. We seem to be emulating the current political climate where the interest group and the minority are running the whole show their way and assuming a no vote is a Yes. It's been very good.
  21. What about those t**sers who put their handbrake on at the lights or whilst waiting at lights then can't get the bloody thing off again! You end up waiting for about three changes of lights before they move!!! Or the most irritating for me is when you are trying to turn right out of a fairly busy road - behind the person who waits to go only until both ways are totally clear - When the right lane could be blocked by pulling forwards so that as soon as the left lane is clear you can go!
  22. Again I think Seatkid has a good point ( I don't usually agree with everything he says!) This is a web site with a web based membership - all this si taking the site to a different plane - not at all what it has been before. It is beginning to feel like this is going to hatch or metamorphise into a completely different animal. Slow down take stock of what and where you are and think carefully before you move on. This Club is TOTALLY VIRTUAL at the moment - it only exists in the ether and on your PC's what you are doing is going to another place not all where this one is.
