  1. Do people really need these all weather tyres?I know it can get a bit nippy in the winter, but we don't live in alaska ! surely general tyres should be enough to cope with an average British winter?
  2. VR6! Thanks for the reply. Excuse my ignorance, but would this cause the pedal to go all the way or just give a hard pedal with no assistance? When i managed to accidentally disconnect vacuum hose while working on the engine the brake pedal felt dead ,but brakes did work in a fashion ,and it was very disconcerting!
  3. thanks for all suggestions (esp throttling the kids nice idea ,but wife has funny ideas about that sort of thing!)managed to get sorted ,all o.k. now . : -_-

  12. I know this topic has been covered before ,but the search mode has been a bit vague in its answer. I am trying to retro fit cruise control on a 95 tdi (drive by wire) i have fitted a new cruise switch , but where are the connections to fit into the new switch? previous answers say wire for this is under the dashboard -any idea where ? i don't fancy pulling out the dash if the wire is tucked away somewhere easy to find . Any help is most appreciated
  13. :P thats all well and good, but i hope she's getting the dinner on now ,after all -she HAS spent all afternoon swanning around town having a nice time ;)

  15. I understand that meeting up is not for everyone. For some its just a car to transport kids/furniture etc..For others it may be that little bit more..which i am discovering that it is for me..sad i know...but i like the galaxy and talking to other Galaxy owners i have met. My friends take the p155 as they cant understand why i want to go to car shows..or be able to service my own car..or travel the country going to a show..But i cant say that i am a typical wifey that sits at home drinking coffee and yakking about kids 24/7. I want to tinker with the car..i want to go to shows and meets. One of the things that has come from going to the National show run by the FFOC..is that bridges are being built between the two clubs,i.e.if they have smaller meets we would be welcome...information swapped..that type of thing. I spoke at length to the organisors of the show and the admins of the site.Much info was gleaned from them and much was learnt. No i wont get upset if peeps dont want to come..as i now realise that we are not alone in this happening...just one of those things..not everyone is as die hard as me i guess! Pleased you had a good time ,sorry more people didn't show up, after all the effort you put into this ,but like me lots of things get in the way -sons football ,complete lack of interest from wife and other kids ,and i didn't fancy an 8 hour round trip by myself. So better luck next year !
  16. showing my age ,but tommy cooper stands head and shoulders above newer comedians (at least he would if he wasn't dead!)
  17. Good logo, were they expensive?
  18. :) tiredness while driving is a real danger as it just creeps up on you ,especially at night when roads are usually empty -ALWAYS take plenty of breaks ,have a coffee and walk around to get some fresh air,and keep the heating down as that warm car acts as a giant sleeping bag!
