i think your find that your version of the gal has curtain airbags,so i would say that behind the trim that says airbag is AN AIR BAG,i thought the trim was only held on by the serrated plastic studs,but im sure someone who knows will be along shortly to give you the right answer.

nik i thought that once the coolant had heated up enough(iirc 75 degrees)then the unit would shut down???? so if the ambient temperature is below 10 degrees then the unit runs constantly??????is that correct?.

YEAH WAS VERY FUNNY thought the 1st bloke was even funnier though.

HOO BLOODY RAH AND ABOUT SODDING TIME received a phone call from the dealer yesterday to say the new heater was in and to arrange the fitting of the unit,it went in today,NICE BRAND NEW UNIT UNDERNEATH :16: made sure the unit worked before driving away from the dealers,lovely jet engine sound and no smoke :D ,after about 10 mins the temp gauge went up to 90 even had to turn the heating down was getting to hot inside :( something that hasnt happened before because as soon as the temp gauge showed 90 and i turned the heating on the gauge dropped off, so as i have know idea how these things are meant to work(so many threads conflicting replys)as i pulled up at home this evening the gauge was showing 90 turned the engine off and the heater was still running,now is the reason for it to continue to run because its a spanking new unit or is there a fault somewhere??????

when my car filled with smoke ,it went back to the dealer to be rectified(apparently)the only thing they could find wrong was that the climate control panel had to be replaced AND THAT COST THEM NEAR ON 700 QUID,trouble is you will never know exactly what was or is wrong with the car because they will never tell you the truth anyway,im still waiting for my booster heater to be replaced 2 months after the so called repairers took it off the car,BUT THATS ANOTHER STORY. :rolleyes: ANYWAY I HOPE YOU GET IT SORTED OUT,im sure theres a thread on here some where explaining about smoke coming into the cabin.

well yesterday my local sainsburys had sold out of diesel,tescos we were queuing down the road and asda had long queues also. my neighbor filled his van up at asda the night before last went past in the morning and they had dropped the price :(

dunno about the mk 3 but for the mk 1-2 im pretty sure ive read somewhere,it is possible(some one with computer knowledge)to program the central locking etc,i think it will lock at 15mph and you can program just the drivers door to open.im sure someone who has more info about the mk 3 will post a reply.

bagshot it might be worth letting us know the name of the stuff,just in case a few members here might like to try it.before spending vast amounts on trying other methods, regards gregers

im still waiting for mine to be replaced after many many months,(VERY LONG STORY)LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL) on mine they have linked the pipes together(im assuming)with a bit of pipe and jubilee clips(DO NOT USE SPRING CLIPS)they let the coolant leak out,as i have found out!!!. is your car is out of warranty?have you got a full seat history if so would seat not mend it as a goodwill exercise????

i stick mine to the quarter light,means that i dont have to take my eyes off the road,and it does not foul the windscreen.

I can't see much out of my back window the best of times, someone stuck five seats behind me blink.gif :o :lol: mine doesn't do that either,i think these cars are complex enough with out another feature like that :o something else that would cost a fortune if it goes wrong me thinks.
