iirc the change over was at 2003,the dealers recommend you change it at 60000 miles,thats when mine was changed.

i think your have to try a breakers or ebay.

swifty this is a safe guard feature on certain versions of our cars,normally once the brake peddle is pressed it goes out 'means everything is healthy' if it stays on theres a problem somewhere.

i think on some versions of the shalaxys they have this feature, lucky gits.

something seems a bit fishy here.

GLAD ITS SORTED,so is this something (no pun intended)the grease monkeys will be keeping an eye on for future servicing or as they now know the problem by issuing a recall,seems to have taken an age to get to the root of the problem with a simple fix.

no they didnt say if that was with bezels,but its my handles that are scratched nothing wrong with the bezels on mine.

DOUG that about sums up dealers,lets not bother trying anything to hard lets just wright the thing off and charge the customer. thanx for that B/H,went into my local vw dealer today with my code and lo and behold up it came FOR A PETROL???????basically wasnt very helpful. ive seen 1 with a no:7mo820803p but he couldnt cross match the numbers but said they dont tend to give out the codes because theyve been blamed for giving the wrong codes(basically i think)there p155ed off for not getting the work,if truth be told. 7mo820803p fitted ady/1z/ahd/afn/aug engine cars so he said mines a auy1 engine so that aint going to fit(bugger)it was a new one. asked him if they done a bearing kit?er no was the reply.

iirc mk1 under the ash tray,mk2 under the steering column.
