Cam Belt Change Interval 60,000 Miles?
gregers replied to father alice's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
as malcolm above has said about the pd 115 bhp there was a change over in 2003 from 40000 to 60000 miles, mine was changed by fords at 56000 miles, but if its already 4 years old then your right to have it changed. -
i tried a few years ago to give up,i went to the doc and he gave me ziaban,i found after a few weeks when ever i wanted a ciggie if i picked up an ash tray and inhaled the stench it used to make me feel sick,CRAVING SOON STOPPED lol. i lasted 7-8 weeks then a few probs occurred and started again and have been smoking ever since one day i will manage it(hopefully). big mistake maz buying and having one(imo)put you back to square 1. keep it up,im sure youll feel better in a few days.

gregers replied to DougJones's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
cheers zorg im assuming this will work on a mk 2? will this cause the heater any damage now that you your self control the unit?or is this just a dumb ass question by me?? -
hi peeps have been sent a email from friends,no doubt its doing the rounds, but i do think you will agree that this is something that we could all help with and all it will cost you is a bit of time while sitting at your computer. click on the link A favour to ask, it only takes a minute.... * I * 6 * Y Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know. http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/ AGAIN , PLEASE TELL 10 FRIENDS TO TELL 10 cheers peeps regards gregers ps.perhaps this could be bumped every few days?

Booster Heater Mods
gregers replied to DougJones's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
i to have noticed that my heater seems to be running continually for what seems like an age, thought i read on here somewhere that it should shut down automatically when the coolant temp reaches 75-80 degrees, when my temp gauge is showing 90 my booster is still running, but i have noticed that if i do a journey switch off then restart a few minutes later it doesnt come on.is this normal? think i might try doing what youve done zorgman.(specially if theres any idiot instructions for it). -
take a look in the technical section in faqs look for rear wiper problems.
-
mary mary quite contrary how does your galaxy go????? with so much noise and not much poise dont you feel a twat.
-
DOUBTFUL hes either on drugs or hes suffering from MAN FLU :D :D
-
if any of you decide to go down the route of doing it yourself,i have a contact who can supply all service parts for the galaxy for a very good price, ive just had mine serviced and he supplied the parts(original)for a lot less then the factors could do.mined you i did buy the oil from halfords on a bogoff deal.

i would think if the lights come on it thens registers a voltage drop, hence the alarm goes off,you need to find out why your lights are coming on,take a look under the passenger seat and lift the flap is the floor wet,coz thats where your ecu/alarm/central locking module is,if is wet take a look in faqs in the technical section for rear washer pipe.hth. and welcome to the mad mad world of galaxy ownership :D

Wipers Have Stopped Working
gregers replied to jackthehat.co.uk's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
jimmyd think you better take a look in faqs for rear washer pipe,i think yours has come adrift, dont use the rear washer until you do or your flood the inside of the car and if yours is a mk1 it could fubar the ecu. -
found this, might be worth putting in the faqs? http://www.etis.ford.com/fordservice/serviceScheduleForm.do

WELL WOULD YOU BLOODY BELIEVE IT :D :D as some of you had mentioned b4 YOU WERE RIGHT had a service carried out tonight and when my m8(mech)took the under tray off LO AND BEHOLD sitting in it quite happily was the clutch plate and nut from the compressor,i had taken my new one with me just to show him(stroke of luck),on the compressor is a rod with splines on it and the clutch plate has a serrated hole so it fits together, well my clutch plate had worn down so it was almost smoothe,on closer inspection it looked like the nut had just simply come loose and the plate had started rattling on the rod which is probably what the horrendous noise was?,well i was a bit skeptical on whether the compressor had seized or not,but on my m8s say so we unbolted the clutch plate off of the new one and fitted it to the one on the car(PIG OF A JOB)but we done it in the end,LO AND BEHOLD started the car put the air con on and the compressor engaged and sprung into life, ran it for about 15 mins and stuck a probe down the centre vent and the temp was 6degress,YIPPEE ive got aircon again. so now ive got a compressor minus the clutch plate sitting in my garage along with a booster heater  my m8 also couldnt believe i had managed to obtain all my service parts(original parts)for the price of 30 quid delivered. :D 1 thing my mech has spotted is ive got a bit of an oil leak started round the condenser/turbo :(

i can appreciate wot you are saying m8,its just i wouldnt be happy having to spend even more of your hard earned on the problems without getting the dealer involved or at least trying to get him to reimburse you, hopefully someone will be on shortly to offer more info on your problems and help you get them sorted. -

i think you will find the sale of goods act would deal with this under the 28 day rule, you say the dealer doesnt want to know and you do not want to go down that root,my response to you is you are 25k lighter from not mentioning the sale of goods act to the dealer and shouting,i can not understand the rac decision aswell,if they have inspected the car then surely they must stand by the inspection??? iirc a dealer as mentioned above have to give you a minimum warranty of 3 mths ,ive had my gal a year now and it cost the supplying dealer nearly 3k in sorting out my problems and that was just to do with the sale of goods act and not using the warranty at all. give the trade and standards people a call, there a friendly bunch and they will tell you where you will stand legally hth.. oh and welcome to the forum. -
hi and welcome to the forum marcr have fun reading all the posts.

the reason it takes time to heat up is because your booster heater is not working correctly when working it will take approx 5mins to get good heat in the car, pull the fuse to stop it trying to work there is a lot of gals etc running round without their booster heaters working,so in your case it looks like it could just be a glowplug replacement?to get yours working correctly again,BUT be prepared it could be other things wrong with the booster,as other posts suggest, try the glow plug 1st as this is the cheapest option then take it from there.
