welcome to the forum, you say you have a gal reg of 2000,but you have posted in the mk3 section of the forum.can you please confirm what version you have so i can move it to the correct section,cheers. did the window jam a tad?if so if you are releasing tension then i would suspect the spool has overrun?this require removal of the motor and regulator and removing the motor etc CAREFULLY then grow another pair of hands to keep it all in :rolleyes: and inspect the plastic spool,if the thread within is threaded then it will always happen,so you will either need a new/2nd hand regulator or purchase a repair kit from ebay.

think you have to remove the thermo put it in a bucket and see whether it opens/shuts,if it does then it aint that.

pipe come off perhaps?

ive had both,mk1 2ltr petrol and a mk2 tdi. mk2 was far better no more stupid speaker covers being broken or the cup holders on the floor,but the mk1 aircon was more powerful.

make sure you get 1 for about 2 tonns?. i to went down this route as i dont want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with a can of jollop. so got hold of a full size alloy and all the other bits needed.

make sure it says it will,as my old tis wont run on win 7.

just a thought check the fuse box under the bonnet and the main cable from the alternator to the board ?.

buy your own lead and clear the faults yourself.

welcome to the forum, i do hope you have checked the rear wash pipe thats in the area? try ebay and ask any sellers breaking the cars if they have 1.

if they advertised it as coming with a working cd/stereo then ask them to source it for you. under the sgoa its there problem.
