CERTAINLY AINT THE 3RD ONE its been behaving it self today accelarating like it should,so ill wait till the weekend before pluging in the vag,from what i have read on here over the years about limp home mode i was thinking it didnt rev above a certain point?and you were virtually stuck at below 40mph,with mine lastnight it slowly crept up past 6OMPH(MMMM).once i restarted it was free reving like it should,as ive never suffered anything like this before i have to put down to the so called gremlins that infect the galaxys from time to time.

nah that would be too easy,will do hopefully tommoroz,just wondered if someone might know what the problem could be.

that is rather strange to think that it hasnt been coded to the car,or is this another way of the stealers getting hold of your hard earned?. frogeye you are correct on a mk2 you need 2 different keys to code a 3rd.do as yu have suggested or save up and take it the a locksmith/dealers.

mmm now i could be wrong,plz check with the right peeps(trade and standards),but i think there is no such thing as sold as seen when it comes to cars??????

driving down a duel carrageway this evening pressed the accellorator down and it felt like it didnt want to rev,i assumed this is limp home mode???.it slowly got up past 60mph but there defo was hesitation arrived at my destination,was there a couple of hours started up again and lo and behold working fine quick off the mark(yes i know its a derv :) )went past 70 no probs, what do you experts think it was/could be?? i dunno what im meant to be searching for or what hence this post. many thanx in advance gregers

yes iirc all keys have a transponder chip in them,if as you say your key is worn then thats the way to go,save a bloody fortune compared to taking it to the stealers to be reprogramed.

1st thing are you certain theres no windows left open?then check under passenger seat to see if theres a swimming pool under it?.have you done a search on here for alarm problems?

sounds like they have seized,do a search for your problem has been posted lots of times with instructions on how to fix,hth.

as whats been said and say to the insurance compant that unless they act you will be contacting the trade and standards peeps.

well i bet its in the door boot of the hatch,top right when you open hatch up,always goes there,plenty of peeps have posted about this.

just a thought,before you attually start ripping your car apart you have checked to make sure both brake light bulbs work!!!!

have you checked for a blown bulb somewhere?

wiring in the door pillar,inside rubber boot,lots of info on here about it.

are you sure its the motor thats dead?reason for asking it could be the mechinism that has seized,been posted on here loadsa times and instructions on a fix.

the only thing i would advise is get a manuel,take a look through the forum on auto boxes theres a lot of info where they go tits up,and it seems a very expensive fix.

i had a mk1 zafira not a bad car all in all,had it nearly 2 years and had to do nothing to it,just the space was a bit cramped for me and it wouldnt take all my tools with all the family in,unlike the galaxy which swallows the lot,i could add a bit here but i wont.............................. :ph34r:
