mmmm iirc somewhere in the depths of the forum ive seen this before posted with details on how to over come the compressor sieze,think your have to try searching for it and see what you find. unless someone knows how to?

cyborg,who cloned your key? jonny you still need to obtain the correct pats chip to be abled to get the key cloned. have another look for it AND KEEP LOOKING you know its there,rip the hoover apart if need be.

mmm,somewhere on the forum is a picture.its a small black chip that slides in the side of the horse shoe part of the key, i would either try to find the pic or carefully take your other key apart ON A TABLE WITH SOME PAPER ON IT.so you know what your meant to be looking for,once you know what it looks like try to remmeber where you changed the batteries and get on your hands and knees and try to find it,ITS WORTH ABOUT

dunno how you can lose the programming to the pats chip by changing the batteries???? you sure you aint lost the chip???itself?? fraid its a trip to the stealers or a decent mobile locksmith or someone with full diagnostic software like vag-com,as you are aware you need 2 keys to program any more.

yes thats the tool,or just give it a good tug,but be aware about bending the door card and also you will no doubt break the trim clips(like i did)dealers sell them. i think you need to do some checking on the wiring,on ebay there is a thing called tis disk for the galaxy,it is technical information and contains vast info on our cars and others.on there should be the correct diagrams needed.

well? as you say the motor works in all ways (just not the correct way),i:e on the buttons and on global then wires through the rubber boot could possible be ruled out,also cant see how the electric block could be put on the wrong way round(but do check). think you need to obtain the correct part numbers for your model and check to see if your new 1 matches the codes for the mk1,also cannot see if the wrong side could be fitted but again think you need to take a looksie.

cant see how that would be the case?but i suppose you never know.

well hunted hi and lo at various outlets to see if i could get some cabling made up,the local motorbike shop said they do make cables up but alas it was thicker then the cable i had and probably not bend easily round the runners, even phoned up gsf and was qouted

I can only assume the wiring has changed on the mk1

gutted for you m8.as others have said but maybe you have a few friends who can help you and maybe you could source another engine and do the work yourself???

yep look again carefully,there are posts where on closer inspection the wires have snapped inside so appere ok on the outside.

well sounds like it was just aswell it was empty,by all accounts the gas is very nasty and should not be released to the elements anyway, do a search on here for aircon theres quite a few posts on the subject,hopefully all your problem is just the system is empty,but you have to ask if that is so,then why???could lead to other problems in the system. think kwikfit are still doing aircon recharge or your local aircon specilist,if you go down the dealer route have a big wallet.
