  3. mmmm last week there was 1 on flea bay for 15 quid+delivery.but at least yours is new.so peace of mind.
  4. it might be the engine stabilizer bar.open bonnet (engine off)grab hold of engine and try and rock it,if it all flexes really easily then thats what it could be,do a search on here for it.
  5. i would take a close look at the fuse board to see if theres any water ingress??? also take a look at the fuse board under the bonnet, also check the main relays are working correctly. aircon, yep sounds like youve got a leak somewhere(no 5hit sherlock)do a search n here for info about air con in general, there are various elements that tend to fail, only you can decide how deep your pockets are, sometimes it can be very expensive to a/find and b/fix. sounds like you need a new brake switch(info in faqs in tech section on how to replace)also i found the cheapest place to buy was vw,approx 8 quid, fords wanted nearly 20 quid. i think the glow plug light is connected to the brake switch,so you hopefully sort 2 probs out in 1. booster heater, youve said its been checked?but have the fault codes been cleared, iirc if not then it wont fire up,there is a small thread on here about booster heaters,if you go ahead and read it ALLOW A FEW HOURS.war and peace isnt as long. hth a bit.
  6. im wondering if theres a short somewhere on the hrn wiring?
  7. i will pm you.
  8. and while your in the area of checking under the passenger seat, plz check the rear wash pipe that runs the length of the car,it has a join in it near the box.saves you time. also you might have to dry out the carpet etc, lots of newspaper, but you might have to remove the carpet to ensure it drys out completely.
  9. Yep bought a new unit from Frauds cheaper than Flea bay and fitted iit this morning all now ok Thanks everyone for all your help really how much was it,was lead to beleive this was a rather expensive part from the dealers???

  12. Scorpiorefugee wrote As far as criticizing designers goes, what about the climate control panel? Whoever thought of putting the most unnecessarily complicated bit of control gubbinry in such a daft place must qualify for some sort of prize. close, but still think its got to be the numptys who put a join on the rear washer pipe above the ecu on a mk 1, now really we all know why the desingners do this is repeated custom, from peeps who do not have the savvy or inclination to seek out a bit of knowledge and get there hands dirty.
  13. WELL DONE THAT MAN,see it pays to be dedicated.
  14. sounds like the common problem of frayed wires in the rubber boot between car a nd door,do a search for the fix, causes no end of bother.
  15. phil long shot before you part with your hard earned,go to the dealers and ask them if your car has missed any recals?????you never know.

  20. per 0,iirc theres 3or 4 torx screws that need to be removed so the head light can slide forward,i had to use various extension bars the tape my torx bit to the socket, ,be careful when you slide the lamp out put a cloth on the bumper so as not to scratch it.
  21. the longer you leave it the harder it is to sort out, phone the dealer if you want but as i have already said gain some info from the trading standards peeps 1st(or what ever there called)they are there to help you, then tell the dealer how unhappy you are and what is he going to do about it,a lot of dealers aint got a clue on the rules i:e fit for purpose etc. as for the key then i dunno what to suggest,i got my 1 cut for
  22. wacko as you seem to be asking the same questions on other sites, i dunno if you realize, timpsons cut a key for me for about
