No worries, happened to be out earlier with the camera so you know they say a picture is worth a thousand words, here's 2 thousand for you: You can see the mounting points on the floor, and I've shown the middle one folded down and then again in the "up" position. You can also see the extra mounting positions under the two outside seats that you would use to make the 6 seater. I forgot to mention earlier that they all slide forward and back as well to create more or less legroom / boot space.

Looking For Help With My 1.9 Tdi 90 Bhp Galaxy

Give over, 500 bar = 7350psi !!! Nobody makes a tester that works at that pressure. He could probably actually damage the gasket if it had been tested to that pressure, I dont know the gal's compression ratio off the top of me head but average diesel compression is 270 > 400 PSI or about 19 > 28 Bar. -

Leaking Coolant After Antifreeze Change?

Its quite possible there is still air in the system - you need to refil it very very slowly. When I did mine I had the same thing for about 2 weeks until it settled. -
Galaxy 1.9 Tdi Overheating/boiling Up
Mirez replied to groover1973's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
but it has had a new impeller and stat a year ago thats what i dont understand i have a bill here from the previous owner and its sais its had the upgrade impeller which is the new metal 1 unless the garage are full of crap as i took the stat out and there is no way its only a year old Think you've just answered your own question there. It wouldn't be the first time a garage has charged someone for work thats not been carried out, unless I know the garage/dealership personally or can verify it myself I take any previous reciepts with a pinch of salt. -

What about the basics? Fuel filter? Air Filter? -
Ahhh ok, surely that can't be good for your MPG?

Humm, either you drive a lot of miles in reverse or they have been changed before you. The front pads shouldn't outlast the rears in normal driving conditions!

How do you know there are no problems with the water pump? -
Its a cartridge on the TDI so you shouldn't need a wrench, it "should" be only 25nm tight so easily accessible.

Major Electrical Problems In Mk2
Mirez replied to vnmum's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Sounds very much like either a defective control switch in one of the doors or the wiring but I would reiterate bj's comments - the wiring is the most likely suspect. If the wiring in the door is broken/damaged then its highly possible one or more are shorting together - the hazzards, locks and windows all have links to the central locking system. Foe example if the external unlock wire is taken to ground you would get all 4 windows going down, the hazzards flashing and the doors unlocking themselves. If its tapped to ground you would get a flash of the hazzards and the doors unlocking and vice-versa for the lock wire. One simple tests you could try would be to remove the central locking fuse and see if it stops, with that controller disabled global opening/closing should be stopped and you'll be able to see if its problem with that circuit rather then the MFCU. Also with the ignition on open and close each door in turn to see if its made better/worse - maybe try wriggling the rubber cable pass between the chassis and door in turn. I wouldn't be in much of a rush to replace the MFCU just on Fords advice - they'll probably be telling you that based solely on a diagnostic machine which will likely default to that conclusion if more then one circuit exhibits the same fault. -
Cheers! :)

Just gathering a little info really as the plugs have 4 revisions listed. Therefore, if you have changed your glowplug in the heater could you pop down: The year of build or plate number. The part number you fitted / cost / from If it was the correct part or needed modification I'll then gather it together and hopefully we'll be able to work out what plug fits what year. --- I've yet to do the new one but the last one was: 2001 on a Y 7D0-963-319 -

Anyone For A Rusted Front End?
Mirez replied to Mirez's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I can't see a way of stopping it happening all together, the drain hole simply isn't large enough - I guess you could poke something up the hole but it was reasonably compacted so I doubt you'd get it all just doing that - as you look at the pictures, the drain hole is on the left side, so you wouldn't get around and to the back on the right side either but removing the covers is an easy job. I had the wheel off for something else but it could probably be left on but on full lock - its then just 4 thorx bolts to get it half off - which is all that needs to happen. -
All galaxy GHIA spec's came with them from around 99 on, AFAIK optional before. If the gal had duel airconditioning (optional) then only the drivers side will be electric as the ducting is routed up the passenger side.

Anyone For A Rusted Front End?
Mirez replied to Mirez's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Well its interesting that my last Mk2 had rust starting in exactly this area on the passenger side, I never took the liners off that one and I assumed it had had a scratch/knock at some point hence the rust but on reflection it may well have been from this. -
Anyone else get this one or have I got a genuine admirer? ;)
-
Took the arch liner off the front today to be met with this: Thats the whole front wing scuttle blocked,so any water that comes down (and take into account that the front screen and sunroof drain down into this area as well) has literally no where to go but out between the liner and wing. Tbe result is that you get this lovely build up of extreamly damp crud. When clean it looks like that, both sides were identical with roughly the same amount of crud build up. I managed to knock the majority into a bag and then jet out the remaining - there is a drain hole at the bottom and it also it open to the back of the wing where the door sits... or rather it should be. On a side note I weighed the bag at the end... 2.04Kg!!! Wonder if I can get back to that magical 50mpg now?

Fuel Light Beeping And Speedo Not Working
Mirez replied to Marie...'s topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi Marie, as above I can also assure you its a ten minute job. Any garage that's telling you otherwise needs to treated with caution! They could of course be thinking its an earth fault problem - there are tens of earth points around the car and a number are behind the dash however its highly unlikely that any of them would "fail" and require any attention - far more likely the cluster is defective and I would look at replacing that before doing anything else!!!
