  1. car details would be really helpfull here  is it a diesel?? if so our escort td does this - priming/pumping fuel usually 4 clicks which repeats every time the ignition is turn to the last position before starting
  2. Disconnect maf - no difference or better usually indicates that maf is shagged, even if the performance is worse there could still be a maf problem, especially on TDI's what milelage is yours ?? see link here there was some talk from folks that the thick film type sensor (as fitted to tdi) as opposed to the hot wire type should be a service replacement part often at about 50k
  3. you then need to click the little button on the right to 'add into post' - will put it where the cursor is this will put a code in the text where the picture will be
  4. possibly air con pipe - if you have it (don't know spec of aspen)
  5. but not 115 or 130 presumably
  6. Presumably the sudden drop in torque persuaded the ecu to go into 'limp home mode' if the ecu monitors the maf signal changing over time - possibly a sudden change (which this sounds like) may give the implausible signal error rather than the low/high error, I wonder if you hadn't cleared the errors and restarted the engine whether it would have logged a high/low error as well ??
  7. having thought about it 142bhp seems more familiar for the 2.3
  8. thats all it should be but it can sometimes be a bit flakey :)
  9. zetec one below ghia I thought 115 and 130 were bhp of diesel variants I thought petrol 2.3 was 149 bhp ???

  11. fords wds 2000 - talks to car electronically IIRC vanbursta had a bit of a job with his
  12. surely loss of satellite signal would be dpwn to the gps rec - usually the more modern sirfIII based rec are much better than the older sirfII based - what type did you have??
  13. close to the ignition lock IIRC - range is limited
  14. ???????????????????????? was that from an owners POV ?? or ....... Sorry - couldn't resist
  15. Cant i use one my my own pictures ? yes but I think you have to get it hosted on an external site - most isp's give you some webspace to upload a picture/website to, follow their instructions to upload the picture from your computer and thin in your sig use the 'inset image' button to put the url address in.
  16. You can replace all the locks and get a ford mechanic out to program the immobiliser or you could replace the ignition lock - have another key cut for the door locks but will still need ford to match the chip to the car. Sounds like the cheapest option would be to get the car towed to the nearest ford dealer, get a new key cut for the doors and fit new ignition lock getting ford to mtch them up, you would end up with two separate keys - one to run the car and one to open the doors ;)
  17. does it get its supply through the loom in the door boot - if so check for broken wires - look in the faq
