mu 98 tdi has 180k on it everything works ok just getting the steering rack replaced leaking oil... only signs of wear are the drivers seat and steering wheel.

to get to the brake light switch you need to contort you body under the drivers footwell and look up from the brake pedel. there are two plastic switches there, one for the brake and the other one i cant remember ? to get to them open the fuse cover under the dash pull off the cover, remove the 6 screws to remove the trim. i oiled mine up and it now works fine.

had a test drive in a 06plate 130psi mk2 today against the new 140psi model. trouble is i like some parts of the old model and the drive of the new one. both were much better power to my 90psi one. not sure i want to spend that much money though? i will keep looking and wait for the one i want to show itself!

when i got a spare cut the chip in my old key was read by the cutter and new key chip programmed from that.

does it unlock if you lock it first by hand? if so check the wires inbetween door and post. just had to repair three in mine.
