I would say the kit is suitable, however finding the correct wires may be a little trickier and more involved as I believe the PATS module was moved/incorporated with the PCM in later models. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I finally decided to fit a remote unit from this chap using his ke04 kit I didn't think it was a bad price for

Rear Window Winder Handles
MadBaz replied to JDF's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
IIRC there is a spacer just behind the handle (it looks like handle and spacer are one) you need to push the spacer away from the handle. hang on a mo... Heres some pretty pics: hope this helps -
I've used Vista and on the surface it seems ok, there are some nice tricks up it's sleeve, however with Microsofts track record on security and reliability my main PC and Laptop will be using XP Pro for some time to come, maybe until Vista SP1 !! Vista is yet to prove itself in the real world and as my business requires a reliable OS, I can't afford to be sorting out a BSOD when I'm supposed to be fixing a clients PC. anyone remember MS Millenium Edition??

^_^ Crikey, where'd all that lot come from, I live just on t'other side of hill and we've had nowt. I think you can keep it though, as I slid 50 yards downhill this morning on school run. Thinking of introducing new winter sport, MPV Tobogganing tobbogganning sledging, kids think it's great, I s*** myself

Have you never seen one snap? so if he plows into another car thats OTT?? when he knows about it, Apologies Radiotwo/everyone, my post was a bit off. I've never seen/heard of one failing, I used to make them for a company in Germany which supplied the likes of Lotus, the way they are made makes them almost impossible to catastrophically fail, however when they are worn, they seem to deterioate rapidily, which is very very noticable thru steering, anyone that doesn't get it sorted must be a chimp. I did mine recently, cost 20 quid + tracking @ 25 quid at kwik fit.

Not a very good attitude You won't be saying that when one wheel goes one way and the other goes the other, and you poss go through a brick wall, or even worse hit another car ank kill the others in the car !!!!! Radiotwo A bit ott I think, considering thats unlikely to happen because of a worn track rod end, if it snapped/worked loose from hub carrier maybe

I want one, can't get many kids in though, more economical than my Gal I think.

I relented and signed, apart from the monetary issues, I don't like the goverment being able to keep tabs on where and when I am, not that I've got anything to hide. It's not gonna happen anyway using gps tracking, that is hell of a lot of data to transfer, store, interpret and invoice, (Glen may have an idea of the numbers involved) which will be contracted out to the highest bidder, Not only that the GPS satellites are owned by the USA, they can swith them off/ change the signal (less accurate positioning) whenever they please. How would the goverment enforce/police it? It's taken them long enough to get illegal cars down to reasonable numbers and they've got a long way to go. How do you secure a tracking device against tampering? it's not possible, you'd have devices on Ebay before the scheme had even started. Fo every penny we'd pay for our travel, another would have to be charged for the administration of this scheme. Any goverment that introduces this, surely must be committing political suicide. If they do it, it'll be through fuel, and we won't see the benefits, although maybe another chief constable can have a new en-suite fitted to his/her office.

Me and the Girlfriend think Sky/cable tv is worth it just for the Top Gear repeats, not sure if they're available on freeview though. There is a lot of tat on tv atm, but we can always switch it off and do other things..........

Will do mate, thanks.

P.S. I didn't have to remove the scutle tray, but you do need a torch to see the level.

CAREFULLY!!!! I use a pressure bleed kit, screw cap on res loosley, fill up bottle and blow down the air hose, it topped mine up nicely when I kept loosing fluid from clutch slave cylinder, no mess or spills.

Yep Nah, I'm not like that, I'm pretty good at getting companies to honour agreements/contracts though. I've found it always helps to have Consumer Directs (trading standards) phone number in my mobile. I'm not an habitual complainer I just want a fair deal, if I have to stamp my feet to get that I will.

Thanks Gooner, there's no green duct, I'm gonna have to be careful not to cause problems when I rip out the hedges!

My Girlfriends, brothers girlfriends cousin tried to get in mine, we had a few 'words' a neighbour called police, lucky for him  , I got a verbal warning and he got carted of cos there was a commital warrant out for him, he's now doing 18 months for theft/vehicle crime.

I was fuming, what made things worse was no-one at customer services was interested, no returned calls etc, I eventually phoned a mobile number that was on our welcome pack, it turned out to be an installations manager at the Kirklees depot, he sorted us out with carpets being cleaned and re-fitted, 6 months free service, as it turned out the sub-contractor had had loads of complaints and was subsequently fired. If I ever gave anyone that level of service I'd be out of business in a week. If I can bother you with a question Gooner, the cable that comes thru our garden, does it have to be at a certain depth and or in flexible duct/pipe? We're having a new fence put in, the cable is only a couple of inches down.
-
This was the broadband cable in the bedroom, He pulled up the the edge of carpet to hide cable to modem, pulled out the ariel cable and used th hole to feed his cables thru, left muddy footprints over our new room, bedroom, stairs and bathroom carpets, tapped our lass for a fag, and asked her to carry one of his toolboxes upstairs, he even told her to vac up the brick dust upstairs as it might stain bedroom carpet!!!
-
I'm no expert but we've had similar probs with terresterial normal TV,(bloody big hill in way of Emley moor transmitter). We fixed it by subscribing to Cable, reasonably painless, except for install team tramping mud over new carpets, lifting the carpets to hide cable, sorted in the end though.

I'm not signing up!!!! The idea of pricing peeps per mile sounds fairer to me than the bloody unfair road tax, scrap the road tax increase duty on fuel and use that extra duty to fix the roads and to put more Traffic Officers back on the roads instead of Gatsos. Sounds like some hairbrained scheme to me dished up by some civil servant who has to justify his being there. Having said that, the road tax is probably cheaper for me ;)

Don't go for belkin a lot of thier stuff is iffy at the mo, linksys is fine. try the WRT54G here It'll do your wired network and if you eventually go wireless it'll do that too. The're fairly easy to set up and reliable.

Nice one, something else to lookout for

It could also be the door lock mechanism, there is a 'paddle' on the end of the key barrel which connects to the lock motor, this becomes brittle/worn over time and can disintegrate. Do you get the same symptoms using the passenger door / boot lock? if not then the handle/barrel is the likely suspect. If you need replacement then go to a VW dealer as they can order the indvidual pieces for a few quid, unlike ford who'll insist on a new handle c/w barrel and the new key will need programming, in total about

Lets Us Know What You Think Of Yours
MadBaz replied to jkspoff's topic in What thing irritate you about your Galaxy
Mines full of faults, but what should I expect from a 11 year old car, she does her job with a bit of complaining at times, female doesn't ;) . If I didn't like her I'd dump her, probably at cooper bridge auto salvage. One thing I love is the front quarterlites, what a fantastic place to mount the Tomtom.
