even if the pump does work, the valve, between the pump and the engine, often fails due to the high temperatures it is exposed to. there is a tsb on tis about replacing the valve/hose but the ecu needs reprogramming.

Windows Opened An Inch By Themselves?!
MadBaz replied to JonathanLH's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Welcome I had a similar prob with windows, I still don't know what cured it, no wet footwell, wires ok in door, I did wiggle wires behind fusebox and not had problem since. I don't have an alarm or remote locking, probably have one of them gremlins though. If it persists I'd suggest getting it plugged in and the fault codes read. -
Having being a postman (sorry PC term is delivery person) I found that however good natured most dogs are, they can turn very quickly, One example was a school caretakers border collie, it ran round the playground with the kids no problems, but as soon as it saw me it attacked and I mean attacked, after the second incident, when I'd had my wrist chewed, my boss and the union decided that until the caretaker kept the dog under proper control, no post would be delivered to the cul-de-sac, and boy did it upset those that had giros delivered. The police and royal mail were keen to prosecute but I wasn't, out of uniform the dog was absolutely fine. When I went back to work ,using advice of old timers from the cycling club, I carried a Jif lemon and when threatened, which was often, I used it at dogs faces it works a treat. Whatever triggers an attack response in seemingley good natured pets we may never fully understand, but all domesticated animals need a keen eye especially round our children.

OMG Lets hope you don't get the blue screen of death (bsod) at 80mph in the fast lane. -
When it happens take foot off gas and steer into skid, ie point wheels into direction of travel, a few weeks ago I was on M62 near scammonden dam (doing 75)and hit a huge puddle, a BMW in front (doing considerably more) just disappeared into the cones on hard shoulder, fortunately nobody hurt, but the puddle was catching loads of people out. Rule of thumb should be slow down when wet. It's not about your ability or even the math, it's about protecting one self from the bloody idiot who relies on his "ability", traction control, ABS and if it goes completly tits up, a good lawyer.

Strange very strange, mines been doing same, only drivers door, its a mechanical fault rather than electrical I think. I've sprayed WD40 to no avail, It does seem to be worse when its cold though. door can't be forced, but when going over bumps, humps and traffic wardens :) , it opens. I'll get the lock out this weekend and have a look and hopefully ppost a solution. 85 MPH IN STRONG WINDS methinks someones gonna be cashing in a life insurance policy soon!

just sent the seller this: I find the item description a little confusing if not misleading 'better built than galaxy' as the Galaxy, Sharan and Alahambra MK1 & MK2 were all built at the same factory in Portugal. VW did the design and Ford did the bolting together, and I doubt if the factory had differing quality control process for the different manufacturers. If you can prove otherwise then leave youe description otherwise it may be prudent to remove it!!! :)

Once the operating systems on Maz, then you'll need to download and run most of these :D

Thought I'd give a couple of suggestions, The immobiliser sounds ok, most defo. Possibly gear lever inhibitor switch. Fuse 26 (30amp). Auto box inhibitor relay (TIS K71) on the relay panel (cjb) its the second row down, in the middle. Red/black cable from relay k71 to starter. Battery + to starter cable. Solenoid (which is part of starter motor I beleive). I know you'll have checked some of these, but in my opinion it's gotta be one of them. My moneys on the solenoid!!! edit: Zorgman, you beat me to it.

An Alternative To A Multi-changer

Heres a couple of photos of it in situ: the reason why I chose this method is because I have a large record collection about 10 gb so far, when in MP3 format. I'm still in the process of converting my CD's, about 4000 in total. There is no filtering on the 12v feed, The internal curcuits handle it all, as I said these are very robust. I once used a 24v 5amp supply in error, for about an hour on this drive and didn't cause any damage. Ive also had this in the car since August without problems. I've stripped down an earlier model, and use the innards to transfer/backup data from clients hard drives when mainboard etc has failed, and used this for about 5 years now, again no probs. There are cheaper models out there, but I don't know about there durability. This model is usually at places like PC W**k, I sourced mine from CCL in Bradford. To synchronise I use Microsofts Synctoy. In use ther are no skipping/dirty cd problems, there is a slight hum from the glove box about 20dba, thats soon drowned out :D . The file/folder selct on the head is easy enough to use, and the sound is excellent even though I have the oem speakers. I thought about a usb drive but I didnt like the thought of one sticking out of the head unit, and from experience of faulty usb ports on laptops due to stress, (broken solder points) and losing usb sticks, This method suits my needs perfectly. Now I must remember to delete the kids bloody Pop junior album  -
Sorry Marian, it's just that I'm in IT and a few of my customers recentley have been ripped off by an ass***e with an ad in paper, he'd used illegal software on thier pc's and it's now cost them twice to have the original problem sorted. Mind you I shouldn't complain its giving me more work. He'd also shown a few how to download mp3's for free, without appropiate security measures being in place. Worst case was an astrologer whose network was insecure, the poor chap ended up losing all his work on his business computer, which included: two manuscripts, two theses, all his clients data/starcharts etc, as well as numerous personal files, probably this has set Him back two by 2 years, despite my best efforts only a small amount of insignificant data was recoverable. He now has legal up to date software, secure network and a comprhensive back-up schedule. If yor gonna used peer to peer networks then please ensure your anti-virus, anti-spyware and MS security updates are up to date. I'm sure we'd all miss you if your pc goes down. Peer to peer networks have thier uses, but don't get stung. Theres a lot of sad people out there. ps. if peeps like an album/track they download for free, then go buy it.

I can't believe someone has actually posted this topic. Sorry mumof4 but I know a lot of people do it, but it should not be discussed on this forum unless your dicussing legal downloads of course. The fact that people download thier fave artists latest album etc is appalling.

Well 800 Miles In 5 Days And....

As far as I know, petrol pumps have to be within -/+10 ml on a 10 litre delivery. I don't know how often they have to be checked though. -
Well 800 Miles In 5 Days And....
MadBaz replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Since I got my galaxy in June this year it's religously averaged 25mpg (400miles to a tank). I don't have a heavy right foot, but we do have a few hills round here, my motoring consists of about 2/3 urban-1/3motorway. I have noticed on the motorway that if I push her to over 3500 rpm/68mph, the needle goes into freefall. -
Not satisfied with the standard radio/cassette I decided to upgrade my ICE to a nice MP3 player. I settled on the Kenwood KDC W534 UA for

3. Red light on top of driver door (something to do with alarm?) comes on for short time, the goes off after a few minutes.(remote locking does not work, although light work on key) If the LED comes on for about 3 seconds when the ignition is turned on, this is normal. :D If it lights continuosly for 1 minute then flashes, (PATS fault code, 10 times) then it needs plugging in to rds2000 at dealer. :D If it flashes continuoously for 1 minute (then flashes some more (fault code)) you'll not be able to start the engine. :D

Just an update on the Pirrellis I have on, I find them brilliant after 6k of motoring, mainly urban but about 2k on motorways, still got 8mm of tread, excellent cornering and braking and no more wheelspin on wet uphill starts, the ride is a little hard though at Fords reccomended pressures (I've dropped mine by 2 psi), Road noise is extremely quiet even at 85mph  , water displacement is again brilliant. If you mainly do urban driving I'd defo reccomend these. I know these are a van tyre but when fitter turned up I spoke to Pirrelli UK and they said they are ok for Galaxy and similar. details here
