I hear you seatkid, but it's not possible atm, Local plod is well p155ed off as the locals concerned usually get a slap on wrist by some old out of touch magistrates. But if I ended up b4 them for twatting the little twinkled eyed f***er I'd end up with 18 months.

Whats The Weather Like Where You Are?
MadBaz replied to mumof4's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
Bloody wet, 'specially this avvo without drivers a window! -
Cheers BJ, making me feel happier already, I don't think showing his mum will do any good, I think she smokes most of the proceeds, if you know what I mean.

You cant defrag the swap/paging file whilst its in use, you need software which will defrag whilst the drive is unmounted, I havent used pagedefrag, is there (like diskkeeper) a facility on it to defrag the page file (at boot up) and set the mft?

mini service done, italian tune done b4 it went in, it was up to temp. Secondary air pump is on council tip as it was u/s, I didn't think it had anything to do with emmisions, only to warm the cat up!

Just got back from the local garage and all is not well... ;) Failed on: Reg plate lamp, they do work but not very bright. nsr/osr indicator lamps, incorrect colour. (wtf) nsf cv gaiter split. nsr & osr brake pipes corroded CO content at idle excessive (2.46%) CO content at fast idle excessive (1.44%) advisory for: nsf & osf brake hose slightly deterioted front (to rear) brake pipe slightly corroded He forgot to add slight play on osf wheel bearing I could fix most of these but I'm worried about the CO emissions, could replacing the cat solve this or are the readings too high for it to be the cat? I don't think the ign system is at fault otherwise the HC would be high too and it's well below the fail rate. Is using super plus unleaded a factor? or does it indicate a more serious underlying problem, like burning oil? all help much appreciated

Problems With My Gal
MadBaz replied to bluenosebryan's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I had similar power probs, it felt like the bus was struggling to get anywhere and it sounded like a TDI  , I've changed the plugs and air filter and I now run on super unleaded and everything seems fine. I was losing some power because the valve attached to the knackered secondary air pump was stuck open, sending some of the exhaust into the engine bay, thats been blanked off and the engine purrs nicely once again. Just a footnote here; blanking off the air pump has also improved the brake and clutch pedal travel, anyone have any clue as to why? -
I'd like to change the year, 1989 sounds good.

The instrument cluster should be a straight swap, assuming they are like for like, all the info is saved by the ecu. This may be a bit obvious but check all fuses (including the ones under the bonnet), are the multiplugs connected at the cluster (usually mor than 1) and ECU and on the engine? Is there any illumination in the cluster when lights/ign are switched on? do any warning lights come on? Is there any power at the cluster multiplug? Have you had it connected to Vag-com? edit: richyrich beat me to it!

Footwell Floor Bulging Up....
MadBaz replied to mumof4's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I've got one on passenger side, bit worried, is this from misuse of trolley jacks? There is no corresponding dent in the box frame underneath the car, but its in the right place for where I position the jack.
