Water Temp Guage And Expansion Cap
Smilge replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi BDM2510, from experience with other cars and overheating problems you might like to consider a partially blocked radiator or an air lock in the system. I also would consider the thermostat if replacing the expansion tank cap hasnt cured it. Good luck mate -
Welcome obee ...... nice motor mate .......so apart from the initial teething problems you get with any second hand car, does the Mrs like it? Still, hell of a car for the money!

Norwich?!!!!!!! ....... thought you lived on the west side of the country? .... ;) ;)

Hi purplemadboy ..... need to struggle some more then mate ...... I had to do the same and you can get it down to 50Kg if you set the rig up correctly. I tend to remove the spare wheel and gas bottles from the front storage box and stick them over the axle area.

No mate, the consortium has other plans for Cosford although they haven't revealed what yet but as far as the museum is concerned, the new hangar due to open in Feb was built from Lottery funds so shutting it is not an option ...... mmmmmmm where have I heard that before?
-
You're very welcome Dave ..... shame you had to spend that much considering its a known design fault!
-
Neil ..... it came from the WAAF operators during WW2 who were watching German bombers coming over the channel using the Chainholme Radar system ...... you cant turn it off but you can use some ECM (electronic counter measures) ...... I would turn my radio up full blast and employ some Barrage jamming or confusion jamming if you have deception techniques available ...... :P

I hear they're going change the operating system completely next year to another ...... The Bill Clinton! Will only run on machines with a 6 inch floppy and no memory.

Got a feeling that will cost you jk ..... IIRC I had a big problem with downloading the Multiplayer patch from their site ...... turned out a hacker had attached a virus to the patch!!! Didnt bother with it after that. Good game though ...very addictive.

I reckon you could be right Matt, with my relative Steve mentioning the impellor becoming detached from the water pump being a common problem, then there's a good chance this might be it. On the other hand, perhaps Wolfie could answer this ........... wouldnt the car overheat then?

Hiya Peeps, Having found out last week that DCAE Cosford has lost the bid to become the centre of excellence in aeronautical engineering training to a Government owned company Qinetic (part of the Metrix Consortium), I feel very let down by our Government. My major concern is that a private company will be delivering Defence training to our Armed forces for profit and considering the majority of teaching staff here are ex-military and have not been given the choice of remaining as civil servants, a large amount of experience will be lost. Personally, I have another 20 years left in providing first class training in Avionics and with children still at school and subscribing to the Teachers Pension scheme, I have a big decision to make whether or not to move under TUPE to RAF St Athan in South Wales. At present, I want to remain a civil servant as there are no guarantees that Metrix will make me redundant once I have signed under the dotted line. Could I therefore kindly ask you as freinds to click on the link below and sign the E-petition for hundreds of hard working staff here at Cosford who provide YOUR aeronautical engineers with excellent training that allows them to work on very expensive equipment that you have paid for. Kind Regards Chris http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Save-Cosford

How To Get Traffic Announcements On The Radio?
Smilge replied to GalaxyGhiaTD0555's topic in Trainee member help
You're very welcome Chris ....... what I did, if you look at the bands you can use, TP1, TP2, FM1, FM2 etc ...... I tune the 6 channels in TP1 into local Radio TA programs which you can do just by watching it auto scan and then pressing one of the 6 presets to store that channel. Do the same for TP2 but national programs like BBC Radio 1 , 2 etc. the other FM channels can be used for anything else. So, when you have one of the TP channels selected, you will always get a traffic announcement from any of those 6 presets you have stored, whatever you are listening to. I only use the TIP button before I set off to see if there are any traffic problems. The TA adjustment volume is used just so that you arn't deafoned when an announcement is made. Bit clearer I think? Hope this helps Chris -
How To Get Traffic Announcements On The Radio?
Smilge replied to GalaxyGhiaTD0555's topic in Trainee member help
Thanks to Cepheus reminding me of copyright infringement Im going to have to give you indstructions from the book mate ...here goes: Traffic Announcements When it is broadcast, traffic information automatically interrupts radio or CD playback. Traffic Programme TP will appear in the display as soon as you tune into a station which braodcasts traffic information messages. If you do not want to listen to traffic, set the TA volume to zero in the sound settings menu. To end a traffic announcement During a traffic announcement, press the TIM control to end the message. Traffic programme search If it is no longer possible to receive the traffic station during cd operation, the radio will search for a new station with a traffic programme Traffic Memory The radio has a digital memory that can automatically store up to 9 traffic announcements totalling 4 minutes. This can be used to listen to traffic messages prior to a journey. When the memory is full the oldest announcement is overwritten. If a message is longer than 4 minutes the beginning is overwritten. Upon playback, a sound will indicate that the whole massage could not be recorded. To activate Radio switched on Each traffic announcement broadcast by the station tuned will automatically be recorded. Radio switched off Press the TIM control. Recordeing is deactivated either 24 hours later or when the radio is switched on again. If the vehicle is being driven with the radio off, the standby time can be adjusted. Refer to audio settings. Playback Press the TIM control. Traffic announcements are played with the most recent first. The display will show how many messages have been recorded(e.g. Track 2), the station name or frequency, and the time of the recording. The announcements can be played in any order. To hear earlier or later announcements press the left or right rocker control respectively within 2 seconds Fast playback Hold down the right rocker control. Repeating announcements Press the left of the rocker control at least 2 seconds into the announcements To end playback Press the TIM control. Deleting announcements Traffic announcements are automatically deleted after a period of time. How To Get Traffic Announcements On The Radio?
Smilge replied to GalaxyGhiaTD0555's topic in Trainee member help
GalaxyGhia ....... if you can hang on mate what I'll do is to scan my SAT NAV book and post it here on the forum as I think it will probably be quicker than going through each of the functions with you. I've had a look to see if there are any pdf files on the vwnavi site but they're still under developement. So, if you can bear with me I'll do it as soon as I can. Chris -

Yea was thinking of using the speaker output cables m8, but, the problem with doing that that is that you have to match the output impedance of the amp with the speaker impedance, so by adding another speaker you are in effect reducing the impedance and risk blowing the amp. In your case I would use the pre-amp output but I have the oem sat nav head unit and dont know whether mine has one.... perhaps you can advise me please?

hey Matt ...so how do i fit one of these sub woofers with a built in amp that you can buy from Halfords mate. Just want a bit more bass punch when the Motorsnakes playing without scaring the kids.
