just researching about the mk2 before i start looking for one.... 1) Do all mk2's have the "Aerotwin" wipers 2) Do all of them have auto leveling xenon headlamps? (or at least xenon headlamps) 3) Next to the radio, if all 8 of the big rectangle buttons were in use, what would they consist of? So far I can count 6: Park Distance control, Hazard Lights, Front heated windscreen, Rear heated windscreen Left heated seat Right Heated seat Could the remaining be for the rearmost electric windows or are those switches near the gear lever, like in this picture? 4) how many keys are supposed to come with it? one remote one normal? (used to be three with mk1) 5) If required, when does the cambelt need changing on an Xreg 1.9 TDi Ghia auto (115PS) thanks for your help sanj

how much did it cost? did you get any judders when say, setting off after stopping at the lights? -
You have two rear view mirrors...one for day and one for night. to switch it to night mode, just put ur hand around the back of it and you shoulf be able to flip a switch of some sort which makes the whole mirror move towards the sunroof. Try it... How many of you guys with Xenons have had to change the bulbs unexpectedly earlier than usual?? please state make and time of use thanks sanj

thanks for all the advice! I thought noone here would have done it! Rojtatton, you're right, it is very awkward to remove the bulb...this is how far I have got this far...the red screw is loosened, and i've tried depressing the clips underneath the whole switch but nothing is happening, its not coming up about the blue colour like bagpuss....if u look carefully at the pics you can see the plastic is green. I suspect this is what gives rise to the green colour....how else do non the selected gears (3,2,1 etc) appear white? there ain't another bulb. -
did u need H7's for your's?

Thank you MADBAZ! I guess I wont be able to drive it once its open, so do you/anybody know what type of bulb it is?, any chance i can change it to blue, like bagpuss ?? -
I'm confused.... I know of: Normal headlamps Normal headlamps with a blue tip, to make them appear whiter (styling aparently) Halogen lamps (or is that the same^?) Xenon lamps The ones which have a lenses in front of them, which are like energy saving bulbs and take some time to warm up. link) Can someone shed some light onto the difference's between the lamps? thanks sanj

Does anyone know how/what to remove so that I can fix it without breaking anything? At the moment, I've only removed the ciggarette ashtray, revealing the vag-com socket. I thought it used smd's and therefore never fused?? Anyway, any help much appreciated. Thanks Sanj

Beware: Defective Fuel In London Area
sanjsanj replied to Gteuk's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
apparently, they're blaming too much ethanol in the fuel.... surely, ethanol burns to give carbon dioxide and water and hydrocarbons burn to give the same thing So why does this "contamination" coat lamda sensors? -

What if you create another skin named "original" or something and change its settings so its exactly the same as now but with a fixed width?

i wanted to vote for This way where the site is wider and changes with screen but i clicked on null vote  anyway, if some people prefer the thinner version, can't they just alter the size of their internet browser (by clicking and dragging the corners)? because it does automatically resize you know!

http://www.vinegartips.com/auto/ a very useful website! especially this: Rid the windshield wipers of road grime and this: When doing car maintenance, soak rusty bolts and screws , will come in handy when removing that aux heater! <_< if vinegar's that good, surely it makes sense to add some to the windscreen washer?

do all mk2's have the aero type wipers or is it from x year onwards?
