  1. ok, thanks for all the info guys. I'll try removing it tomorrow with some "home made tools"!
  2. this doesn't make sense... i thought that there was a collaboration between ford, VW and seat.... VW did all the parts(which is why everyhting is stamped VW ford did something else and seat did something else... i dont think you can say it is actually a seat can you? i mean you can easily say that your ford is actually a vw or a seat or your seat is actually a ford...vice versa... and the engines are ford's or VW's : :D
  3. Ahh....should have read....sorry sanj, i have a 6006e ford unit with 4 holes in it to put thingies in to get it out, Appologies! :D thats ok.... :D urm, i was wondering whether you could remove the stereo with anything flat or it had to have specific "notches" in it...
  4. which connector are you talking about? where can i get a minifuse? whats the difference between a fuse and a minifuse?
  5. right now it makes sense! in the winter, would you recommend it be on or off? and how can i change to 10 degrees?
  6. have you got a sony? mk1 or 2?
  7. the attached thumbnail says that the heater should come on below 5C or until 75C has been reached by thw water coolant. now i've only had this car for 3 weeks, so i'm asking you guys: does this mean that it wont work in the winter as well? if it should work and i decide to fix it, will it be beneficial (and by this i mean the main point being the bank account! :D ) to do so at this time of year(hot weather)?
  8. I've had weird behavior wit my gal as well... when i bought it 3(?) weeks ago, the CC used to flash on start up but it still used to cool- properly. about 1.5 weeks in, i notice its stopped flashing without me doing anything*! *the ciggy lighter wasn't working for my sat-nav and the fuse seemed ok, i took it to the usual guys and they fixed it(wiring problem or something)....now I couldn't remeber when it actually stopped flashing but i know it definitly stopped after fixing the ciggy lighter- could this have anything to do with it?
  9. Cheers neil!! is it possible to do it with home made tools?
  10. what kind of cover will they give me? T reg gal 63000 miles automatic diesel turbo FSH- last service done in july(11 months ago...) MOT done in feb...
  11. does anyone know where to get free (! :D ) voices for a tomtom one?
  12. i heard that you should t-cut or polish a car with metalic paint...only wax it as the polish takes the clear coating off. is this true?
  13. just suck it out :D :D :D so whats the recommended mileage before an oil change?
  14. so what if i empty all the oil (obviously while it has been running for some time) and then turn the engine over- just a bit i.e hold it in the start position for just say, around 1 second....that way the engine will move about a bit and may be i might be able to get more oil out...any ideas?
  15. say you've bought a car and you dont get any warranty with it and say 6 months down the line the a/c compresser seizes, can you just get any of the above warranty deals and then claim from them? it sounds unrealistic to me but it just seems that you can buy the warranty whenever you like, is this true?
  16. yep, i did get it but IIRC i could find anything relevent in it... ;)
  17. hi guys! i have a sony XR 6759 fitted to my car....i'm about to buy the tools to take a sony out of its cage but was wondering whether anyone knew where to insert those tools. cheers for the help! edit: hereswhat the tools look like

  19. urm, MM, the thing you've circled looks like a bolt screwed though the air intake? is that an air intake? is that a bolt?
  20. IIRC, you were pregnent then, so it doesn't really count as free... :D scuse me???pregnant???noooo...dont think so!! :D hmm, must be someone else then... :D
  21. Could you please take a picture of where the sensor is located please? I couldn't find anything obvious when i looked. Also, as someone has already mentioned, R.T.F.M :D it states that the aux heater switches on when the temperature is below 5 C "*or the coolant temperture is below 75 C*" "*not entirely sure about the coolant temperture (75) and whether its an or or an and

J reg diesel: colour put in: lightish dark brown colour on dipstick (obviously after running it for a while): Black R reg petrol: colour put in: lightish dark brown colour on dipstick (obviously after running it for a while):a dark brown(only slightly darker than what was put in) P reg petrol: colour put in: lightish dark brown colour on dipstick (obviously after running it for a while) : a dark brown(only VERY slightly darker than what was put in) T reg Diesel: colour put in: lightish dark brown colour on dipstick (obviously after running it for a while): Almost Black Now is it a characteristic for diesels to have a noticably darker oil colour or is it just my cars?
  24. cheers for trying :( I think I know the place you mean. I may call in on the off chance. Got home tonight and checked the car and it looks as though the aircon is still working!! The missus was either telling porkies or I have a sneaking suspiscion that the V belt( is that its name?) is loose though I'm probably wrong. The car needs to go in for a service in the next week or two anyway. heres a good place: its in bedford though, about 20 mins from dustable i guess Kempston Radiators Offer: Full air-con health check for just
