  1. don't tell me it's fords, lol!
  2. you could try looking here... I want to work on my heater at home, which means i need the correct size pipe to connect the two coolant pipes....while you're under there, could you measure the diameter of the coolant pipe please?
  3. if it works that well, surely it would be extremely popular all over the world by now?
  4. tell ya what, with the engine off, keep pumping the brake pedal untill it gets rock hard. Then, with your foot firmly on the pedal, start the engine and the brake pedal should move down within a second or so. If it doesn't, its defo the servo gone. For comparison, you might wanna try it on someone else's car as well.
  5. surely it doesn't matter? the only thing 'ford' about it is the badge!
  6. how long does it take for all the frost to melt (on average)?
  7. click here for info on where to get the right part
  8. you can, it just means that your gal will take 25-30 minutes to warm up rather than 3.
  9. is our heater model listed here?
  10. call halfrauds. They have data for all cars, right down to its trim level (ghia, zetec etc). if it helps, then a 96 P reg 2.8 has the same battery as a 99 T reg 1.9 (i remember asking them this, but i can't remember the specs of the battery) I do however remember them asking me if i had heated seats, a/c etc which suggests if you have alot of high power electrics (you have a Ghia X) then you go for the high amp battery.
  11. 6 years? HOLY **** any particular reason? did you never check the oil in that time?
  12. nope, it should be there, just dig a little deeper. it's quite hard to see as it's tucked away quite close the the wiper armature, directly in line with the battery
  13. yup, this is normal.. they stay on constantly (not sure about mk2's though) any idea what kinda bulbs these use?
  14. it will run constantly until either the ambient temperature exceeds 10 degrees or the coolant temperature exceeds 75 degrees
  15. apparently there is, read this post
  16. don't know if you know this but, IIRC you can get out of limp mode by switching the engine off and restarting. Don't do this on the go though! just a thought, if you have a trip computer, try monitoring the oil temperature. out of interest, whereabouts is this stupid steep hill? scotland by any chance?
  17. did you make sure it's the new, updated type of glow plug?
  18. I thought there's a thermostat which stops water circulating around the radiator if the coolant temperature is too low, stopping that from happening? the fan cuts in quite late on the veccy.... i remember this because when i was 7/8 i saw the temp needle extremely close to red and got really frightened because i thought it would blow up! you should better off sticking the heater on full blast. lincolnshire? have you moved?
  19. does your auxilary heater work? read this
  20. yup! If you sit in the front passenger seat, the leak is under the carpet just where your left foot rests. clicky here for more info. I was about to welcome you to this forum, but then i saw your member number: 8. WOW Also, don't quote me, but I think I read somewhere that there is no need to remove the weather seal.
  21. fully defrosted? :( I thought it just heated up the coolant, how can this defrost the windscreen? or does it run the inside fan the as well?
  22. rear wiper and heater suggests the wires have broken between the tailgate and the body... open tailgate, remove rubber on the top left hand side and inspect for broken wires.
  23. surely in the on but not started position, it would keep the glow plugs heated, ready for you to start the car???
  24. but the washer jets are on top of the bonnet and the air intake is underneath. Am i missing something? ;)
  25. How come you can always smell the windscreen washer??
