Can you check vag-com for faults?? Mine seems to take up to 5 minutes/3 miles or so. got no vag com to hanfd but mine is roughly the same distance :lol:

by percussive do you mean you give it a tonking with an object of a hard substance :lol: :wub:

Right changed glowplug 2 weeks ago and it's working ,but sometimes it doesn't kick in until quite a while into my journey like this morning at 6.30am it was 4.5c and when i got home it had still not kicked in so i took it back out and give it a spin around the block but drove it a bit more agressively than normal (plodder me is) when i got back jet engine running like a dream :lol: so do i need to give the engine a good rev on start up to make the booster heater kick in :wub: all advice welcome :lol:

Not sure about the start up bit could be the cold weather, as for when accelerating hard i think you will find that most diesels give out a fair bit of the black stuff when floored :P

If this is white smoke you are talking about then it sounds like the aux heater starting up to give you enough engine temp to warm you and your passengers :)

Mine doesn't smoke and i only get a smell when i switch it off and thats only when it hasn't switched itself off, i fitted a new plug supplied by mr blackett and all is well :lol:

Thanks nik, since mine has been working i have not seen any smoke or dodgy diesel smells from under car, could this be due to the fact that it has a 340 plug fitted :lol:

When i got my oil and filter from ford dealer spot on and took time and effort to check all avenues, could be that this dealership mainly deals in servicing and repairs and no car sales ,i'll be using them shortly for my first service and will let you know how i get on :blink:

just had a reply regarding these having grip studs and reply stated they had none but were self gripping and came with mk11 from factory :D sounds a bit moody to me ;) :D :lol:

Now i might be wrong here but doesn't climate control work along the lines ofworking on the outside temp and also the sun sensor on the dash, now if that's how it works then on drab dull day the sensor is not going to have any affect plus with the outside temp being low climate control will not cool the air as cold as on a hot sunny day, as it happens i had mine set on low and it blew cold but not as cold as it did when i was in france in the summer when it was really hot and sunny, i am happy with mine and the panel flashes and i had a new condenser fitted in may :wacko:

if you are using only for vag-com then you won't need any anti-virus, the os wil depend on the version of the software you are using - note some need a usb port some a serial port - older laptops may have the serial port Thanks NikpV but what is os :P thanks in advance :D

Ok all :P after a bit of advice from you computer buffs, i'm looking to buy a second hand laptop nothing special, this will be used solely for trying to get rid of any fault codes on my gal , so does it need to have any specific edition of windows installed and will it need to have a anti-virus installed? any advice will be greatly appreciated :D
